Job Description Lighthouse is seeking passionate and dedicated Behavior Technicians to join our team of professionals. As a Behavior Technician, you will provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism and other special needs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. As you build a relationship with children and their families, your work will directly contribute to their growth, development, and improved quality of life. Salary Range $22-25 per hour Responsibilities Your responsibilities as a Behavior Technician at Lighthouse will include the following: • Implement ABA therapy techniques under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)., • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to children, following individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs., • Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and behavioral skills in a supportive and structured environment., • Foster a positive and engaging therapeutic relationship with clients, promoting their independence and well-being., • Conduct assessments, collect data, and track progress to ensure effective treatment outcomes., • Collaborate with the BCBA and interdisciplinary team members to review progress, address concerns, and modify treatment plans as necessary., • Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers, providing updates on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for generalization of skills to the home setting., • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of therapy sessions, including progress notes and data collection., • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in ABA therapy.     EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part Time LOCATION: Staten Island MAIN FUNCTION: We are seeking an Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) to develop services individually designed to improve the ability of our participants to live as independently as possible within the community. As an ILST you will be responsible for the training, supervision of, or assistance to, an individual with self-care including: medication management, task completion, communication & interpersonal skills, socialization, sensory & motor skills, mobility, community transportation skills, problem solving, money management, ability to maintain a household. QUALIFICATIONS: Persons employed as an Independent Living Skills and Training provider must be a/an: 1. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 2. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 3. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Social Work degree;, 4. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Psychology degree;, 5. Licensed Physical Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 6. Registered Professional Nurse (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 7. Certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities (certified by the NYS Education Department);, 8. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (certified as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification);, 9. Licensed Speech Pathologist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); or, 10. Licensed Occupational Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); AND Must have, at a minimum, one (1) year of experience completing assessments of ADLs/IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing comprehensive service plans and teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent. Any provider currently providing ILST services approved pursuant to the qualifications in the waiver prior to the most recent approval is approved to provide services under the new application. New employees/providers are required to meet the new qualifications. The grandfathering of current providers sunsets when the staff person terminates employment with the current employer. Additional Requirements: Acceptable verification of credentials related to qualifications.
