American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/17/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level II Trauma Center, • 60-bed ED with 21 inpatient holding beds, 2 psych rooms, and 14 hall spaces, • Cares for all ages from pediatric to geriatric, with trauma, cardiac, medical, surgical, psychiatric, and high-acuity cases, • Average daily census of 140-150 patients, • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may flex to 1:5 for low acuity, • Shift is 12-hour nights with every other weekend rotation, • No floating required, • Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and central/bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station, • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position, • Supported by ER techs, resource/float nurses, charge nurse, RT, educator, pharmacy, house supervisor, and security 24/7, • Required to work three of five major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, • Professional attire required; any scrub color permitted if professional, • Free designated parking is available, • Up to 5 days of time off may be approved, • Fast-paced, team-oriented, and traveler-friendly work culture\n \n Requirements\n, • Active WA or compact RN license required, • Minimum 1 year of strong Emergency Department RN experience, • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB, • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, manage IVs, administer drips, perform procedural sedation, administer blood products, and use cardiac medications, • Traveler Telemetry Competency Exam must be passed prior to start\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
