Job DescriptionJob Title: Pipefitter Job Description This role focuses on installing, assembling, and modifying piping systems for HVAC and related mechanical applications. You will work extensively with copper pipe, including brazing and soldering, as well as threading and grooving various types of pipe to support VRV, VRF, and ductless HVAC systems across multiple commercial job sites. Responsibilities • Install, lay out, and assemble copper piping systems for HVAC and mechanical applications., • Perform brazing and soldering on copper pipe, ensuring strong, clean, and code-compliant joints., • Complete dry fitting and final brazing of piping systems according to project specifications., • Use pipe threading equipment, including 300 machines, to thread, groove, and prepare pipe for installation., • Install and secure grooved and screwed pipe systems as required by the project scope., • Install branch boxes, VRV and VRF systems, and ductless HVAC units., • Run and support copper HVAC lines, including refrigerant lines and associated piping., • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and layout plans to complete accurate installations., • Verify measurements, alignments, and system layouts to ensure proper fit and function., • Follow all safety procedures on job sites, including the proper use of PPE and tools., • Collaborate with other trades and team members to coordinate installations and meet project deadlines.Essential Skills, • Proven experience with pipe fitting and pipe installation in commercial or industrial settings., • Strong proficiency in brazing and soldering copper pipe., • Hands-on experience with pipe threading, including operation of 300 threading machines., • Ability to install grooved and screwed pipe systems safely and accurately., • Experience installing branch boxes, VRV, VRF, and ductless HVAC units., • Ability to run and support copper HVAC lines for mechanical systems., • Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and piping layouts., • SST 10 (Worker’s Wallet) with F60 and G60 certifications for NYC jobsites., • OSHA 30 certification for work in New Jersey and Regeneron sites., • Knowledge of HVAC piping practices and standards, including HVAC pipe installation and copper piping for HVAC.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working on large commercial or multi-site projects., • Familiarity with prevailing wage projects and related documentation requirements., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment., • Reliable transportation to reach different job sites as assigned.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place across three separate commercial job sites with a standard 7:00 a.m. start time and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You must arrive on day one with your own tools and required PPE. Current locations include a site in Warren, New Jersey, a site in Tarrytown, New York, and a site in New York City. The environment is field-based and construction-focused, involving active mechanical rooms, building interiors, and exterior work areas where pipe fitting, threading, brazing, and HVAC installations occur. Work hours may include overtime as needed to meet project schedules, and you will regularly work with pipe threading machines, copper piping, and HVAC equipment in compliance with safety and site regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tarrytown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
