Job Description Job Title: Production Assembler Pay: $16-18/hr (Depending on Experience) Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri Job Description The Production Assembler supports day-to-day manufacturing operations by performing hands-on production and assembly work in a shop environment. This role focuses on assembling components, preparing materials, and operating equipment to ensure products are built accurately, safely, and efficiently according to blueprints, templates, and work instructions. Responsibilities • Perform hands-on assembly and production work to convert raw materials into finished products., • Assemble components, prepare materials, and operate equipment to support daily manufacturing operations., • Follow blueprints, templates, and written work instructions to assemble and fabricate components to specification., • Measure, mark, and prepare materials for cutting, drilling, forming, and assembly using a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch., • Utilize hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively., • Assist with general fabrication tasks including cutting, bending, forming, fitting, and welding metal parts and components., • Operate production equipment, including bandsaws, chopsaws, and other shop machinery, in a safe and efficient manner., • Use MIG welding equipment to assemble metal parts for the construction of containment rooms and other structures., • Perform TIG welding as required and participate in weld testing to validate skill level., • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate builds and adherence to specifications., • Support overall production flow to help ensure builds are completed on time and within quality standards., • Troubleshoot basic production issues and adjust to changing job requirements, priorities, or workflows., • Work collaboratively in teams to complete projects and support colleagues in the shop., • Handle and move materials safely, including lifting 50–100 pounds as needed., • Travel to job sites as required, approximately three trips per year of about two weeks each, to support installation or related work. Essential Skills • Hands-on production assembly experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, fabrication, or shop environment., • Proficiency using a tape measure and reading measurements accurately down to 1/16 of an inch., • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, templates, and fabrication drawings., • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including saws, drills, grinders, and similar equipment., • Ability to work with metal parts and components in a fabrication environment., • MIG welding experience, including the ability to pass an all-positions groove plate weld test., • TIG welding experience and willingness to complete a TIG weld test to assess current skill level., • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail in assembly and fabrication tasks., • Comfort using measuring tools such as tape measures and squares and cutting products to size., • Ability to lift and move 50–100 pounds as needed in a production environment., • Willingness and ability to travel approximately three times per year for about two weeks per trip., • Ability to operate fabrication equipment such as bandsaws and chopsaws, or willingness to learn., • Capability to operate forklifts or similar material-handling equipment, or willingness to learn., • Strong adherence to safety practices when using welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or a shop setting is highly desirable., • Experience with fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, forming, and fitting metal components., • Experience using bandsaws, chopsaws, and shears is a plus., • Previous exposure to production manufacturing environments., • Experience with TIG and MIG welding in a production or field environment., • Forklift experience or certification is beneficial., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic production issues., • Ability to adapt to changing job requirements, workflows, and project priorities., • Comfort working in a team-based environment with a diverse group of coworkers. Work Environment The role is based in a smaller open-air shop environment on a first shift schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The setting involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, fabrication machinery such as bandsaws and chopsaws, and other production equipment. The work is physically active and involves handling metal components, operating machinery, and lifting materials weighing 50–100 pounds as needed. Travel is part of the role, with approximately three trips per year of about two weeks each to support projects away from the primary shop. Steel-toed boots are required for safety, and individuals performing welding are expected to provide their own welding helmet and related personal welding gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50/hr.
