The Park Ambassador will actively patrol the assigned SDSU Mission Valley Campus on foot and by bike, responding to service requests via phone, in person, or through the DSDP USS mobile app. Park Ambassadors will work directly with emergency response personnel, service providers, and local law enforcement daily. Park Ambassadors will also actively engage with the community in a positive and productive manner, providing top-quality customer service to all visitors and members. Essential Job Functions & Duties • Conduct field inspections of the SDSU Mission Valley Campus., • Serve as the frontline for community service requests via phone, text, and email., • Schedule and dispatch work orders to maintenance and security personnel., • Set daily benchmarks and performance expectations for maintenance and security personnel., • Daily inspections of maintenance and security equipment prior to deployment., • Perform quality assurance duties, including proactive walking inspections of completed areas., • Compile daily statistics, emailing the COO and ED/SVP with required shift stats and geographic areas covered., • Enforce the policies and procedures of the Project Area., • Interact with customers, police officers, and emergency personnel., • Interact with City staff, reporting hazardous/substandard conditions. City reports will be documented in real-time and given to PM., • Park Ambassador must Interact with the transient population and proactively communicate with necessary providers. Park Ambassador will work with PM to understand geographic areas with unsheltered homeless individuals and conduct quarterly training on how to respond appropriately., • Provide customer service assistance to residents, business owners, tourists, and other patrons navigating the SDSU Mission Valley., • Actively patrol assigned areas regularly, establishing order and presence throughout the SDSU Mission Valley site., • Check in daily with PM, Contractors, SDSU Mission Valley visitors, Snapdragon contractors, and MTS staff., • Compose, maintain, and present detailed reports of incidents and accidents, notating damages, theft, or any other irregular activity., • Investigate and proactively contact individuals who engage in suspicious activities related to panhandling, public intoxication, loitering, aggressive individuals, nuisance crimes, as well as any suspected criminal activity., • Create “BOLO’s” reports (be on the lookout) based on the need of each property, • Assist vendors with securing areas for maintenance duties during special projects, power washing requests, and block face cleanings., • Act as a walking escort and provide directional assistance for employees, residents, and visitors in need., • Clean, maintain, and operate issued equipment, including bikes, phones, and radios., • Compile daily statistics using data collection work logs, recording service requests., • Complete quarterly training and field training under the direction of the PM., • Perform quality assurance duties as directed by the PM. This includes power washing, landscaping, and restroom janitorial inspections., • Provide real-time reporting and submittal of incident reports, employee accidents, vehicle accidents and emergency responses., • Provide coordinated outreach services with the DSDP Outreach team and refer 211 informational packets to those in need., • Report any trip hazards, day burners, lights out, unattended property, or other discrepancies in real time to the PM and document on the data collection system., • Receive verbal/written approval from the PM for all purchases., • Complete purchases in a timely manner and on scheduled credit card usage days., • Scan all receipts to Accounting within 24 hrs. of purchase, placing physical receipts in the finance inbox., • Comply with any accounting request made within 72 hrs., communicating if additional support is needed., • Paylocity Payroll approvals, edits, confirmations., • Update operational supply count., • Adhere to all local, state, and federal guidelines and laws. (I.e. HIPAA, OSHA, FLSA), • Answer all calls, specifically service requests, in a polite and professional manner, • Scan documents to appropriate departments using the subject header and include a description of the document in a forwarded email Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities • Intermediate report writing and documentation skills (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), • Strong verbal communication and listening skills, • Ability to use various problem-solving skills for completing assigned duties, • High School Diploma or GED (AA or BA Preferred), • 5 + years’ experience in Security, Guard Card certified preferred, • Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety, • First Aid/AED/CPR certified preferred, • Outstanding customer service skills, in person and electronically (radio/ phone), • Ability to read and write in English.
