Job Posting: Residential Associate Location: Rochester, NY Department: Restart Residential Employment Type: Per Diem Schedule: Various Salary: $19.25-19.75 (.75 increase upon Med Certification) General Description Under general supervision, provides a safe, therapeutic environment for the residents through medication management, recreation and facility management in addition to other residential activities for clients. Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS OASAS and other relevant governing bodies. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Monitors residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment., • Makes hourly visual contact with residents and documents in client observation record, • Monitor and support residents’ efforts in maintaining their comprehensive plan for admission, ongoing treatment and discharge of transfers., • Implements recreational activities as created by the vocational specialist or residential team., • Cover non-clinical psychoeducational groups as needed, • Observes peer led activities, • Provides transportation when needed, • Conducts room and personal belonging searches to ensure the safety of the environment and program participants., • Conducts urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly if needed while practicing universal precautions, • Provides conflict management to residents as needed, • Supervises preparation of meals by clients to assure sanitation, safety & nutritional standards are met satisfactorily. Required to complete L2 certification, • Maintains cleanliness of facility, including assigning chores, cleanup tasks and doing necessary follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion., • Debriefs relevant information to incoming employees during shift exchange; conducts visible rounds to ensure all residents are accounted for and environment is safe at beginning and end of each shift, • Carries out emergency procedures to assure safety of residents and staff when required., • Notifies Residence Manager of any emergency situations immediately., • Conducts monthly fire drills., • Engages security system., • Provides medication observation and monitoring utilizing established protocols in absence of LPN coverage, • Completes and maintains all necessary documentation in compliance with the agency and appropriate regulatory standards., • Enters shift notes into electronic client record database per each scheduled shift, • Completes group notes into electronic client record database by the end of each shift, • Completes incident reports, documenting any unusual incidents or situations as needed., • Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings, • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops., • Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse, • Other duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Equivalent Combination of education and experience will be considered. Credentials: Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License. Experience: Experience working with substance use disorder clients and/or mental health services preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is also preferred. Job Description The Behavior Support Specialist will work with the school’s leadership team to ensure that all students demonstrate dramatic student achievement gains and develop their character and social-emotional skills. This individual will also help lead the school’s efforts to create a positive, structured, consistent, caring, and disciplined school culture. In addition to the duties set forth below, the Employee agrees that s/he will perform all the other duties that are assigned by his/her supervisors, the school’s Principal and the Principal’s designees, and/or the Board of Trustees, including, but not limited to: Goals for the Behavior Support Specialist include but are not limited to: • Model high expectations for student behavior and interactions., • Support efforts of every student to succeed academically and behaviorally and graduate from college., • Enforce expectations from the Code of Conduct, • Maintain a focused, serious, and efficient environment for the In-School Suspension program., • Create and support systems that prevent misbehavior, as well as intervene and correct misbehaviors as they arise to prevent escalation., • Collaborate with the DOS to develop plans for students with repeated struggles to meet expectations., • Refer students to the Social Worker (via email and CC DOS) if/when reports are made that require SW intervention., • Manage the In-School Suspension classroom daily, including communicating with teachers, accepting and processing send-outs, addressing misconduct and communicating with families., • Distribute and monitor work that students are completing during In-School Suspension., • Collecting work for students with Out of School Suspensions and manage the pick-up/delivery with students., • Manage Lunch Detention., • Manage Early-Release Program for Detention based on Kickboard., • Manage Extended Detention Notifications., • Assist DOS when no students are in ISS., • Meet weekly with DOS for feedback, goal-setting, coaching/practice, collaboration and problem-solving of discipline issues and concerns., • Utilize Kickboard and Microsoft Excel to manage behavioral data of students.Qualifications, • Passionate commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools., • Unwavering belief in high academic and behavioral expectations for all students., • Exceptional time and task management skills., • Ability to persevere despite uncertainty and unexpected obstacles., • Relentless drive to empower students academically and personally., • Self-motivation, desire to be a great teammate, and a strong sense of personal responsibility., • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members., • Ability and desire to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues., • Required Experience:, • Bachelor’s degree is required Additional Information Compensation for this role is between $19.19 per hour to $24.80 per hour. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $19.19 - $20.76 per hour.
