Job Description Manager, Labor & Delivery_RN Job Summary The Manager of Labor & Delivery is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and directing unit operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Working collaboratively with nursing and administrative leadership, this role supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and performance initiatives that promote excellent clinical outcomes and a positive patient experience. This position is ideal for a strong clinical leader who values teamwork, supports staff development, and is passionate about delivering exceptional maternal and newborn care. Key Responsibilities • Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Labor & Delivery unit., • Plan and manage staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to support safe patient care., • Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and unit-based initiatives., • Promote evidence-based practice and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards., • Support staff engagement, coaching, and professional development., • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and operational performance., • Foster a collaborative, patient-centered, and supportive team environment. Qualifications Licensure • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact/Multi-State RN License – Required Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Required, • Master’s Degree – Preferred Certifications • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) – Required, • ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) – Required, • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required Experience • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery – Required, • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience – Required Ideal Candidate • Passionate about maternal–child health and patient-centered care, • Collaborative leader with strong communication and organizational skills, • Committed to quality improvement, staff development, and operational excellence
