Job Description Job Description As a Conveyor Technician (Maintenance Technician II), you support the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling, automated packaging, and distribution equipment, including pneumatic systems. You ensure that high-speed, highly automated and robotic systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently across a large distribution facility. Responsibilities • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as automated conveyor systems., • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance routines on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, including completing all required documentation and procedures., • Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation issues on material handling and robotic equipment., • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment problems., • Enter downtime data into daily logs and accurately complete preventive maintenance (PM) sheets., • Create, manage, and close work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components., • Apply knowledge of basic electrical components and electronic principles to support equipment reliability., • Support conveyor maintenance and industrial maintenance activities, including inspections, adjustments, and repairs., • Follow and demonstrate safety standards and procedures in all maintenance activities, in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and facility safety guidelines., • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic systems and PLC-based control systems, as applicable., • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and maintenance processes. Essential Skills • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures., • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls., • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics., • 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles., • 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating established safety standards., • 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with MHE systems., • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications., • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems., • Experience with automated conveyor systems, material handling, and industrial maintenance., • Ability to complete preventive maintenance accurately and consistently., • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment., • Hands-on experience with conveyors and other material handling equipment (MHE), including controls and robotics., • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance activities., • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and control systems., • Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to identify and implement process improvements., • Willingness to learn and grow within a reliability and maintenance engineering environment., • Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and facility safety standards., • Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields, preferred., • 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field, preferred., • 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems, preferred., • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance, preferred., • Strong troubleshooting skills in robotics, automation, and conveyor systems., • Ability to read schematics and use hand tools and test equipment effectively. Work Environment You work in a large, highly automated distribution facility equipped with high-speed material handling systems and extensive robotic components. The environment is data-driven, with performance tracked through systems and metrics to ensure expectations are clear and transparent, without day-to-day micromanagement. The role is physically active and requires comfort with walking significant distances, such as approximately 10,000 steps per day, and safely lifting up to 49 pounds as part of normal duties. You use a range of tools and technologies, including automated conveyor systems, robotic equipment, pneumatic systems, and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The facility operates on 10-hour shifts, and you must be open to working any shift, as positions are available across all schedules. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
