The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical oversight, guidance, and supervision to our LAC and LSW staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring the delivery of ethical, effective, and high-quality client care. The role will include providing regular supervision, case consultation, support with clinical decision-making, and guidance related to treatment planning, documentation, risk assessment, and professional development. The Clinical Supervisor will also help ensure that clinical practices remain consistent with professional standards, New Jersey licensing requirements, and the values of Steady Steps Counseling. Job summary: Experienced Peer Specialist to work on a newly funded innovative Care Transition team that serves participants transitioning to the community from a higher level of care. As a member of the Pathway Home multi-disciplinary team the Peer Specialist position will work under the supervision of the Team Leader. The role will involve facilitating transition from one level of care to the community by addressing the preparatory needs of participants in the early stages of recovery, discharge planning, development of daily living skills, and coping mechanisms through team and individual work in the community. The team will follow individuals into the community using the Pathway Home model of care to ensure that they become both linked and engaged with identified community providers and that their support network is sufficient to meet their needs. The Peer Specialist engages participants in peer-based services to identify and overcome barriers to community integration, utilizing a peer relationship to foster connection, trust, understanding and validation with community providers and supports. The role will require on call coverage and a willingness to work flexible hours. Job Responsibilities: • Engagement beginning from referring location with involvement in transition planning, including a needs assessment of community transition supports essential to stabilizing the participant;, • Individual sessions with participants emphasizing prevention and preparing for independent community living and the promotion of optimum mental and emotional health. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Genuine interest in working with culturally diverse Kindergarten- 5th Grade students, and able to promote positive character development., • Strong academic skills and knowledge of New York state standards and test preparation., • A sincere desire to effect positive social and academic change in the lives of NYC youth., • Well-organized, reliable, and punctual., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team., • Comfortable to learn and model universal Jewish values while working in and with a large, diverse population. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Must be at least 18 years old., • High school diploma., • Experience in running activities with Elementary (K- 5th) grade students with different learning abilities., • Has some experience in writing lesson plans and leading 45-60 minute educational activities for youth., • Must be able to attend student engagement trips and assist hosting student events in school and for other YM & YWHA programs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s, Associate, or degree in progress., • Experience using a positive youth development model, • CPR certified., • Teaching Artist - Background in teaching or leading an activity. WORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCE: • Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S., • Must pass the background check, medical exams, fingerprinting and other requirements of the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DOE), and Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD).
