Job Description Build the Team. Shape the Firm. Cohen & Cohen is growing, and we’re looking for a high-impact Legal Recruiter to help drive that growth. We’re not a typical PI firm. Our managing partner is known for persuading the unpersuadable and for building attorneys who know how to win. This is not a transactional recruiting role. You’ll identify, engage, and close the attorneys and staff who will define the next phase. If you know how to find strong plaintiff-side talent, build pipelines, and close candidates in a competitive market, this is a seat at the table. The people you hire here won’t just fill roles, they’ll shape how the firm grows, performs, and competes. This role directly impacts the firm’s ability to grow, maintain manageable caseloads, and deliver strong client outcomes. Hiring the right attorneys and staff is critical to building effective pods and sustaining long-term success. Responsibilities: Full-Cycle Recruitment • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for attorneys (primarily plaintiff-side personal injury) and legal staff (paralegals, intake, support roles), • Partner with leadership to understand hiring needs, pod structure, and role requirements, • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates in a competitive market, • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers, • Coordinate and manage interview processes, including scheduling and candidate communication, • Drive the offer process in partnership with HR and leadership, including compensation alignment and closing candidates Sourcing & Pipeline Development • Actively source candidates via job boards, referrals, networking, and direct outreach, • Build the pipeline of qualified attorney candidates (5–8+ years, trial-ready, able to manage caseloads), • Drive targeted outreach strategies, including direct messaging campaigns and passive candidate engagement, • Maintain relationships with potential future candidates Recruitment Strategy & Process Improvement • Refine job descriptions, interview processes, and candidate evaluation tools (e.g., scorecards, case studies), • Improve time-to-fill and quality-of-hire through structured processes, • Track and report on recruiting metrics (e.g., pipeline activity, conversion rates, time-to-fill), • Partner with HR to align recruiting with onboarding and retention strategies Employer Branding & Candidate Experience • Ensure a high-quality, responsive, and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process, • Represent Cohen & Cohen’s culture, values, and opportunities effectively to candidates, • You consistently bring in strong, relevant candidates, not just volume, • You know how to spot talent others miss, • You move quickly, follow up relentlessly, and close effectively, • Hiring managers trust your judgment, • Our hiring process becomes faster, sharper, and more competitive because of you Success Metrics • Time-to-fill for key roles (especially attorneys), • Quality of hire (retention, performance in role), • Pipeline strength (active and passive candidates), • Offer acceptance rate, • Hiring manager satisfaction Who You Are • You’ve recruited in a law firm environment (PI strongly preferred), • You don’t wait for candidates; you go get them, • You understand what separates a good attorney from a great one, • You’re organized, responsive, and don’t let things drop, • You like operating with autonomy and being held accountable for resultsAbout Company At Cohen & Cohen Personal Injury Lawyers, P.C., an esteemed law firm, you will be part of a culture that is deeply committed to navigating the complex landscape of personal injury law to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
