The Novelli Spine & Knee Center is seeking an exceptional Medical Assistant to work directly alongside Dr. Novelli, our nurse practitioner, and our advanced clinical team. Novelli Spine & Knee Center is one of, if not the largest non-surgical spinal decompression facilities in the United States, with a major focus on advanced technology, non-surgical spine care, orthopedic rehabilitation, and innovative treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions. This is not your typical medical assistant position—and this is definitely not a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day job. You will be working inside a fast-paced, technology-driven medical environment helping patients recover from spinal injuries, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, automobile accidents, workplace injuries, and complicated musculoskeletal conditions. Depending on your responsibilities, you may work around advanced technologies used for: • Non-surgical spinal decompression, • Computer-controlled spine treatment, • Advanced orthopedic rehabilitation, • Neuromuscular rehabilitation, • Neurological and orthopedic evaluations, • High-powered therapeutic laser technology, • Advanced pain-management technologies, • Image-guided and precision medical procedures, • Musculoskeletal rehabilitation, • Recovery from serious spinal and orthopedic injuries We treat patients who may have conditions such as: • Herniated and bulging discs, • Sciatica, • Spinal stenosis, • Degenerative disc disease, • Chronic neck and back pain, • Knee and shoulder injuries, • Workplace injuries, • Automobile accident injuries, • Sports and orthopedic injuries, • Chronic musculoskeletal conditions You won't simply be checking patients into rooms. You'll become part of the clinical team responsible for helping move patients through evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. What You’ll Be Doing As a Medical Assistant, you'll work closely with Dr. Novelli and our nurse practitioner and become an important part of the patient's entire clinical experience. Responsibilities may include: • Working directly with Dr. Novelli as his Medical Assistant, • Assisting our nurse practitioner with patient care and clinical procedures, • Preparing patients for examinations and treatments, • Taking and documenting vital signs, • Assisting with orthopedic, neurological, and spinal evaluations, • Helping providers perform and document clinical examinations, • Preparing patients and rooms for advanced treatments and procedures, • Assisting with medical and rehabilitation technology, • Helping coordinate patient treatment plans, • Monitoring patients throughout their course of care, • Supporting patients recovering from spinal, knee, shoulder, and orthopedic injuries, • Assisting with workers' compensation and automobile injury patients, • Maintaining treatment rooms and clinical equipment, • Helping keep patient flow efficient and organized, • Coordinating information between providers and clinical staff, • Communicating with patients and outside healthcare professionals when necessary, • Helping patients understand the next steps in their treatment, • Encouraging patients throughout their recovery Most importantly, you'll help create an environment where patients feel like they have an entire team behind them. Experience Previous Medical Assistant or healthcare experience is preferred. Experience in any of the following areas is especially valuable: • Orthopedics, • Spine care, • Chiropractic, • Physical medicine, • Pain management, • Neurology, • Rehabilitation, • Workers' compensation, • New York No-Fault / automobile injuries, • Medical documentation, • Medical procedures Workers' compensation and automobile injury experience is a major bonus, but we're willing to train an exceptional candidate who has the personality, intelligence, work ethic, and desire to learn.
