MAJOR FUNCTION: Responsible for the daily operation of the Clinical Dental Assistant Support Staff in their assigned dental location and dental assistant job duties. This position is a supervisory position with a direct report to the Dental Staff Manager. The summary functions include but are not limited to supervising the dental assistants, dental assistant job duties, daily maintenance routine for opening/closing of the dental office, assisting front desk support staff with efficient patient flow, assisting and training dental assistants in error free data entry in EDR and compliance with all CCHN policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES: • Complete monthly facilities logs, • Make sure that daily/weekly logs are completed correctly, • Order the monthly dental supply for the site, • Check the Weekly Inventory Count (Covid19) for PPE, • Complete denture preauthorization requests, send them to the dental insurances, and document the responses to EDR., • Supervise weekly huddle, • Oversee site dental support staff, • Handle Patient complaints, • Maintain dental equipment, • Conduct drills, • Make sure that the site is following guidelines/regulations (Joint Commission, Sterilization etc.), • Supervise the site sterilization of instruments and maintain sterilization certification, • Assist dentists daily, • Check the competency of site dental assistants every annually, • Conduct the performance evaluation of site dental assistants annually, • Attend biweekly team leaders’ meetings., • Report monthly cash on hand and petty cash to Jordan OTHER JOB DUTIES: • Provides safe environment of care, • Reduces risk of nosocomial infections in patients, employees and visitors., • Interacts with patients, visitors, staff and outside agencies in professional manner, • Contributes to Improving Organizational Performance Activities, • Promotes positive working relationships among supervisor, staff, and other departments, • Interacts with all other departments to achieve health center mission, • Maintains strict confidentiality at all times as per Confidentiality Statement, • Identifies problems and develops recommendation for resolution, • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize tasks, • Assumes personal responsibility for ongoing professional growth and development, • Participates in department planning activities, as requested, • Participates in health center committees, as assigned, • Adheres to CCHN personnel policies, • Maintains clear and orderly work area, • Integrates department services with health centers’ primary function, • Coordinates and integrates services within department, with other departments and organizations, • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services, • Recommends sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care, • Determines qualifications and competence of department personnel, • Continuously assesses and improves department’s performance, • Maintain appropriate quality control program, • Provides orientation, in service training, and continuing education of department staff, • Recommends space and other resources needed by department, • Responsible for the Direct Supervision of Dental Department Clinical Support Staff at assigned site., • Coordinates and integrates services within department, with other departments and organizations, • Implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services, • Assists in the training of Dental Program assistant staff., • Continuously assists in the assessment of the departments’ performance, • Maintain appropriate quality control program, • Department Meetings communications., • Performs assigned duties as Dental Assistant per CCHN Job Description. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: • HS Diploma or equivalent, • Graduate from an approved educational program in dental assisting., • Certificate in dental x-ray technology (Preferred)., • CPR Required, • Bilingual (Spanish) desire., • Works with hazardous and bio-hazardous materials.
