Job Description Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader job for our direct client, a growing manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the Food Flavors & Fragrance industry located in the Middletown, NY area. This is a growth position for an individual with EHS experience who is seeking to be trained and developed into an EHS Manager. EHS Leader Job Responsibilities • Maintain and update the OSHA manual as required and provide new employees with OSHA materials and initial safety training., • Complete accident reports, perform incident investigations, and maintain OSHA logs and yearly summaries of work-related injuries., • Generate, maintain, and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the facility., • Implement and maintain the Chemical Hygiene Plan, Emergency Response Plan, and Fire Prevention programs; conduct fire drills and regular safety inspections., • Conduct air sampling as required and survey the workplace for potential exposure risks., • Perform fork truck training and certification for employees and manage the Hot Work Permit program., • Conduct quarterly facility safety inspections and work with supervisors to issue corrective action work orders., • Manage hazardous waste documentation, monthly waste pickups, and ensure all regulatory manifests and files are accurate and up to date., • Maintain compliance with air permits, wastewater discharge regulations, and stormwater pollution prevention programs., • Ensure compliance with DOT, IMO, and IATA shipping regulations and oversee required training for shipping and receiving personnel., • Develop and maintain waste minimization and spill response programs, ensuring proper spill materials and training are in place., • Prepare and file Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Reports and maintain compliance with DEA regulations., • Perform quarterly Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits., • AS or BS degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Workplace Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered., • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS or a related field., • Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
