As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate EHS Manager to lead and strengthen our environmental, health, safety, and compliance programs across all company locations. Position Summary The Corporate EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety program across all Dempsey facilities. This role provides strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of EHS compliance and safety culture for industrial laundry operations, maintenance functions, warehouses, distribution centers, and commercial vehicle fleets. The Corporate EHS Manager will partner closely with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance, transportation, and operations teams to create a proactive safety culture that protects employees, ensures regulatory compliance, supports operational excellence, and advances Dempsey’s commitment to quality and customer service. Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate EHS Leadership & Compliance • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a standardized corporate EHS management system across all Dempsey facilities., • Serve as the primary company representative for OSHA, EPA, DOT, local environmental agencies, and regulatory inspections., • Conduct facility audits, compliance inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations while ensuring timely corrective action completion., • Establish and monitor leading and lagging safety indicators, providing monthly executive-level reporting and recommendations., • Manage environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, hazardous waste management, wastewater compliance, and environmental stewardship initiatives., • Develop, maintain, and test company-wide Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP), emergency response procedures, crisis communications, and business continuity protocols.Healthcare Laundry & Accreditation Compliance, • Lead and support compliance initiatives associated with Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) standards and Hygienically Clean certification requirements., • Partner with Operations and Quality teams to ensure facilities maintain accreditation standards related to employee safety, infection prevention, quality assurance, and operational controls., • Support audit readiness and corrective action implementation associated with accreditation reviews.Production & Laundry Operations Safety, • Partner with plant leadership to identify and mitigate risks associated with industrial laundry processing, automated material handling systems, conveyors, finishing equipment, tunnel washers, dryers, boilers, and chemical dispensing systems., • Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and risk assessments for production operations., • Oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, ergonomics, chemical handling, and noise exposure programs., • Lead Management of Change (MOC) reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for new equipment, facility expansions, and process modifications., • Drive employee engagement through near-miss reporting, behavioral-based safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintenance & Engineering Safety, • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards governing electrical safety, confined space entry, fall protection, hot work, machine safeguarding, and contractor management., • Administer Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training and exposure control plans where applicable., • Review contractor safety plans and oversee contractor onboarding and compliance activities., • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to integrate safety requirements into preventive and predictive maintenance programs., • Oversee life-safety inspections and compliance programs for fire suppression systems, emergency eyewash stations, emergency lighting, boilers, pressure vessels, and related infrastructure.Fleet Safety & Transportation Compliance, • Develop and manage a comprehensive fleet safety program covering route service representatives, delivery drivers, transportation personnel, and company-owned vehicles., • Administer driver qualification programs, MVR review processes, defensive driving training, and driver coaching initiatives., • Ensure compliance with applicable FMCSA and DOT regulations including:, • Driver Qualification Files, • Drug & Alcohol Testing Programs, • Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Requirements, • Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), • Hours of Service Compliance, • Investigate vehicle accidents and near-misses while utilizing telematics and camera systems to identify coaching opportunities and reduce risk.Training & Safety Culture, • Design, implement, and maintain company-wide EHS training programs., • Lead OSHA compliance training initiatives including:, • OSHA 10/30, • Hazard Communication (GHS), • Lockout/Tagout, • Forklift Safety, • Confined Space Entry, • Fall Protection, • First Aid/CPR/AED, • Emergency Response Procedures, • Develop onboarding safety orientation programs for all new employees., • Lead safety committees and mentor site-level safety champions throughout the organization., • Promote a culture where safety is recognized as a core value and business priority.Incident Management & Regulatory Reporting, • Manage company-wide incident reporting, investigation, and recordkeeping systems., • Maintain OSHA 300 and 300A logs and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements., • Conduct root cause investigations utilizing methodologies such as 5-Why Analysis, SCAT, and Fault Tree Analysis., • Partner with Human Resources to manage workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives., • Prepare and submit OSHA, EPA, DOT, Tier II, wastewater, and state regulatory reports accurately and on time.QualificationsEducation & Certifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field., • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification. Preferred • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), • OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 certification, • DOT/FMCSA compliance certification, • First Aid/CPR Instructor certificationExperience, • 7-10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial laundry, textiles, distribution, logistics, or multi-site operations., • Experience managing fleet safety programs and DOT compliance., • Demonstrated success improving safety performance and reducing incident rates., • Experience leading OSHA, EPA, and DOT inspections and audits., • Prior experience supporting healthcare laundry accreditation standards is highly desirable.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesTravel: Up to 40% (multi-site travel required) Location: Corporate oversight of all Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply facilities • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements., • Understanding of industrial laundry operations, chemical handling systems, steam generation equipment, and production safety programs preferred., • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills., • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization., • Experience using EHS management software and Microsoft Office applications., • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.Dempsey Uniform is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and will make all employment-related decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
