If you have experience as an IT Director, Manager, Senior Engineer, Project Manager, or Service Manager—and you’re ready to grow into an executive role—we will train you through our 2-Year vCIO Leadership Development Program. Who We Are Maxwell IT is a managed security and services provider (MSSP) based in Seattle, serving clients across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. We provide managed IT services, private cloud hosting, NIST/PCI/SOC/HIPAA compliance, cybersecurity & incident response, and strategic IT leadership for healthcare. Location This position is ideally based in the Seattle area. We will also consider candidates residing in WA, OR, or CA. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. About the vCIO Role A Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) provides executive-level guidance and leadership to multiple healthcare organizations—helping them build secure IT environments, strengthen cybersecurity, align technology with organizational goals, and plan long-term IT roadmaps. You do NOT need previous CIO experience. This role includes enrollment in the Maxwell IT 2-Year vCIO Leadership Program with mentorship, leadership shadowing, governance exposure, budgeting training, and more. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Support creation of multi-year IT roadmaps aligned with healthcare organizational goals., • Assist with governance, risk management, and strategic prioritization., • Learn to advise executives and boards on modernization and digital transformation., • Participate in HIPAA-compliant cybersecurity program development., • Assist with NIST/CIS audits and HIPAA SRAs., • Oversee or advise on network, server, cloud, and endpoint environments., • Manage complex IT projects including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and security initiatives., • Provide oversight for EHR upgrades, integrations, and vendor decision-making., • Evaluate vendor performance, contracts, and costs. What We Look For • Experience as an IT Director, Manager, Senior Engineer, or Project Manager., • Strong project leadership and communication skills., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively., • High confidence, low ego., • Strong organizational and time-management abilities., • Curiosity and desire to grow into an executive role. Knowledge & Expertise (Preferred) • 5+ years in IT leadership, service management, engineering, or project management., • Strong understanding of networks, systems, cloud, cybersecurity, and support operations., • Healthcare IT experience and/or working for a Managed Service Provider is a plus., • Familiarity with HIPAA, NIST CSF, CIS controls, SOC2.
