American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Hospital-based Operating Room setting, • Highly diverse OR with surgical specialties including orthopedic/total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic, • Extensive procedural case mix including bariatric, vascular, thoracic, ENT, colorectal, gynecological, neurological, orthopedic, plastic/reconstructive, urological, and podiatric surgeries, • Da Vinci Xi Surgical System utilized in the OR, • Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required, • 4x10-hour day shifts with start times alternating between 9:00–19:30 and 11:00–21:30 depending on scheduling needs, • On-call required, • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionRequirements, • Active NY RN license required; no pending licenses accepted, • Current BLS certification required, • Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required, • Experience across multiple surgical specialties required, including ortho/total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic, • Phlebotomy skills and IV placement required, • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for considerationAdditional Information, • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position, • Teal scrubs required, • Minimal RTO requests preferred; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
