Job Description Position Summary: The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), through its COVID-19 Containment Program in the Division of Disease Control, is responsible for continued COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 response and mitigation within Philadelphia. The program works to educate residents on COVID-19, develop policies to slow the spread of disease, provide infection control guidance to institutions, and work with partners to address other ongoing public health issues related to COVID-19 in the City of Philadelphia. A component of this effort involves partnerships with Early Childhood Education (ECE), Primary, and Secondary Education settings to support mitigation strategies. The Pediatric Response Specialist will conduct outbreak investigations for COVID-19 cases in K-12 Schools and ECE settings. This position will investigate outbreak reports to understand the severity of the illness and determine its classification and burden on the setting. This will involve reaching out to school nurses and administrators, following up regularly with all parties to ensure they are implementing best public health practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19, communicating with ACD for appropriate reporting of other communicable diseases, supporting personal protective equipment (PPE) and at-home test kits distribution to K-12 Schools and ECE settings at PDPH storage facilities, and visiting schools and early childhood education centers throughout Philadelphia to review existing COVID-19 mitigation strategies and provide guidance for improvement during respiratory health season. Job Description This full-time position coordinates and administers services that provide peer-based intensive follow-up to individuals impacted by gun violence, quality assurance, and resource development. It is primarily afternoons, evenings, and every other weekend and requires on-call, in-person crisis response. Job Description PHILADELPHIA ANTI-DRUG/ANTI-VIOLENCE NETWORK (paan) POSITION: Human Services Coordinator JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY The Anti-Violence programs at PAAN represent a continuum of care that includes mentoring, advocacy, mediation, job readiness programming, job training, employment assistance, parenting and facilitating enrolment in treatment. We currently operate two primary programs: The Community Crisis Intervention Program (CCIP) emphasizes intervening on behalf of the community and has no age parameters. This concept is based on the work of PAAN's predecessor, the Philadelphia’s Crisis Intervention Network. This nationally recognized agency, founded in the mid-1970s by James Mills and Bennie Swans, effectively addressed gang violence, drug abuse and drug trafficking and was credited with dramatically decreasing gang-related deaths in Philadelphia for over a decade. CCIP aims to replicate Crisis Intervention Network's approach to combat today's community violence. CCIP combats violence by intervening where the violence is most prevalent. We use credible messengers who are products of Philadelphia's most violent neighborhoods as outreach workers to foster meaningful relationships with would be perpetrators as well as law abiding residents. CCIP works to provide those involved in criminal activities with positive alternatives. The Human Services Department (HSD) is headed by a director and includes 3 Case Managers, 2 Human Services Coordinators and a Career/Employment Specialist. This department addresses the special needs of CCIP referrals. The staff work to develop and facilitate the effective/consistent utilization of resources while supplementing the support provided by our CCIP Advocates. This Human Services Coordinator (HSC) will assist in identifying the presence of physical or mental health impairments, substance abuse issues, homelessness, educational, family and other social history patterns that impact the individual’s behavior and development. The HSC will be responsible for developing a network of partners along with a social service resource manual which the agency can utilize to best service communities. Job Description About the Role The Green Stormwater Infrastructure Maintenance (GSI) department at GreenUp is seeking a Landscape Foreman to be based out of the Philadelphia, PA office. The Landscape Foreman is responsible for installation and management of landscape projects, with an emphasis on green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) maintenance and light construction. The foreman is responsible for managing daily schedules, work products, and reporting; conducting and overseeing landscaping activities; and managing a crew of 1-3 landscape laborers. Job Responsibilities: • Directs light construction, plant installation and maintenance activities on the job site, including oversight of work standards and protocols., • Manages personnel effectively and efficiently., • Monitors all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance., • Tracks and records all labor effort, materials, tasks, and sites using mobile work order management software., • Maintains a clean and safe job site at all times., • Ensures that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment., • Ensures that all crew members utilize all required personal protective equipment., • Degree or professional certifications in horticulture, or landscape practices preferred., • Arborist license and/or pesticide license preferred., • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean record., • Experience with GSI and OSHA 10 certificate preferred., • Minimum of 3 years of landscaping experience., • Availability to work 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., • Excellent verbal & written communication and time management skills., • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions., • Familiarity with performing common landscape maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools including string trimming, weeding, sediment and trash removal, planting, heavy lifting, etc., • Able to operate mobile tablet devices quickly and efficiently., • Ability to drive truck and trailer, light machinery such as skid-steer., • Ability to identify common landscape species planted in GSI projects, including herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees; experience with native Pennsylvania plants preferred., • Experience pruning trees to promote tree health and proper structural development.
