Role: The Steward Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within hospitality and tourism establishments. This position is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team, managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinating with kitchen and service departments to maintain seamless operations. The Steward Manager ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, implements effective waste management practices, and fosters a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. By maintaining impeccable standards, the Steward Manager directly contributes to the overall guest experience and the establishment’s reputation. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Proven experience in stewarding or housekeeping management within the hospitality industry., • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards applicable to food service environments., • Strong leadership and team management skills., • Certification in hospitality management or related field., • Experience with inventory management software and scheduling tools., • First aid and safety certification., • Familiarity with sustainable waste management practices., • Supervise and lead the stewarding team to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen and service areas., • Manage inventory control of cleaning supplies, equipment, and utensils, ensuring timely procurement and cost efficiency., • Coordinate with culinary and service departments to ensure smooth operations and timely support during service hours., • Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and company policies., • Train and develop stewarding staff to enhance performance, safety awareness, and teamwork., • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, dishwashing, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met., • Develop and maintain waste management and recycling programs to promote sustainability. The Steward Manager utilizes leadership skills daily to motivate and guide the stewarding team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard. Organizational skills are essential for managing inventory, scheduling staff, and coordinating with other departments to maintain smooth operations. Knowledge of health and safety regulations is applied continuously to enforce compliance and create a safe working environment. Communication skills facilitate effective training, conflict resolution, and collaboration with kitchen and service teams. Additionally, problem-solving skills are critical for addressing operational challenges promptly and implementing improvements that enhance overall service quality.
