Job Description Overview The Delivery Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries of chemical and detail goods to predetermined customers on specific routes. The role will also be responsible for reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks, and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. The position is based in MALDEN, MA. WITH MOST DELIVERIES WITHIN 50 MILES Category: Hourly Dept.: Service Reports to: Division Manager Hours: 8:00 am-5 pm, additional hours as needed ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Deliver to sites and customers on assigned routes in a safe and timely manner., • Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes, and maintain schedule, • Conduct inspections of vehicles before departing to deliver goods., • Pack and load products onto trucks according to the company's specifications, • Unload goods as per client specifications, • Review orders before and after delivery and obtain delivery confirmations, • Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs and the customer is satisfied, • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record, • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries, • Maintain ongoing communication with dispatch personnel, • Check in with the warehouse on delivery progress as needed, • Always keep the vehicle organized, clean, and tidy, • Report any accidents or injuries to the supervisor immediately., • Work with the support team to provide exceptional customer service and address customer concerns, • Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork, • Provide special care in delivering fragile and hazardous products, • All other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Technical Qualifications - o Will require proper coordination and motor skills to operate the vehicle o Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License. • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times., • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify potential issues., • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents., • Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do., • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively., • Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)., • Far Vision- The ability to see details driving from a far distance., • Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing., • Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position., • Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a vehicle to exact positions., • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS Experience & Education: • High School Diploma/GED required., • Valid Driver's license issued by the state where you intend to work, • Clean Driving Record, • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Delivery Driver (will be driving a Box Truck., • Strong time management and customer service skills, • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws., • Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods of time, • Travel required., • CDL HAZMAT Class A, B, or C Required Working Conditions & Physical Demands: • Will require heavy lifting (lifting greater than 55 pounds). Materials and Equipment Used: Will require proper coordination and motor skills to operate vehicles Candidates will be required to complete a background check and drug screen before beginning work.
