Shift: TBD Pay: $68,640K Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD &D, Merit Pay Job Purpose: To provide supervisory support to the Cheese Department and assist in other departments as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations in the cheese department. Ensure that safety rules, production, and sanitation standards are met. Manufacture cheese units by manual and mechanical processes. Follow all HACCP and GMP policies/procedures, MSDS policy, maintaining a productive work flow. Unwrapping plastic, cardboard and/or wooden packaging. Cutting cheese with double handled cutter or wire cutter. Sanitation procedures. Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions to supervisors Completing production plan. Labeling, weighing, pricing and counting cheese units and cases Working with soft cheese, hand wrapping and heat sealing. Resolve and reconcile PO related issues Assigns duties to employees and schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations. Schedules and performs periodic evaluations of employees as dictated by the appropriate HR policies. Follow up on customer concerns/complaints, examines discrepancy reports, and resolutions to restore and promote good public relations with the client. Overall responsibility for the supervision of good sanitation practices throughout the warehouse/offices. Promotes a positive work environment while also being a team builder. Work closely with staff to ensure that quality and productivity requirements are maintained and communicated to each associate. Must be flexible and able to work any shift in support of business needs. Minimum Requirements: Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a self-initiator who can implement and supervise all warehouse data entry programs as directed by the Office Manager. Maintaining and enforcing all HACCP and GMP policies and procedures. MSDS policies and sanitation processes. Including dress code, hair net, face mask, gloves and boot for footwear. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing company and client’s standards. Maintains, updates and inspects systems and procedures daily by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, archiving, forms of control, and personnel requirements. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established HACCP, GMP and MSDS policies and procedures. High level of computer and WMS system literacy. Some college level training is preferred but not necessary so long as there is experience in warehouse supervision and some experience in the cheese industry preferred. Education and/or Experience: Some college level management education and/or 2 years warehouse/cheese department supervising in wholesale industry Computer Skills: Strong computer skills required; with knowledge in MS Office, Excel and WMS system literacy Reasoning Ability: Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
