Social Media Content Creator — Part-Time \n 10 hours per week | Hybrid | Carlsbad, CA | $24–$28/hour \n \n About Leap to Success \n Leap to Success is a mission-driven nonprofit that inspires women overcoming adversity to ignite their confidence and reclaim their voice, transforming their lives and communities. \n Through our transformative programs, including our flagship Leap to Confidence® program, women gain practical tools, skills, self-belief, and a supportive community to move forward in their lives. Our programs are offered at no cost to participants, made possible through the generosity of donors, funders, community partners, and supporters. \n \n We are looking for a creative Social Media Content Creator who can help us tell these stories, increase our visibility, and connect more women and supporters to our mission. \n \n About the Role \n The Social Media Content Creator will create engaging, mission-driven content that brings the work and impact of Leap to Success to life across our social media channels. \n This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can take a story, interview, program, or event and turn it into compelling content across multiple formats—from Reels and short-form videos to carousels, graphics, written posts, and longer-form stories. \n \n The position is part-time and hybrid, with most work completed remotely. Occasional meetings will take place at our Carlsbad office, along with attendance at selected programs and events throughout San Diego County to capture photos, video, interviews, and stories. \n \n What You’ll Do \n\n • Create and publish engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.\n, • Develop short-form videos, Reels, graphics, carousels, captions, and story-driven posts.\n, • Attend selected programs and events to capture photos, video, interviews, and meaningful moments.\n, • Turn one story or event into multiple pieces of content—for example, a longer video, short clips, a Reel, carousel, quote graphic, social posts, and newsletter or blog content.\n, • Maintain an organized social media content calendar and schedule posts.\n, • Support online fundraising campaigns, program promotion, donor engagement, and community partner outreach.\n, • Monitor social channels and respond to comments and messages in a timely and respectful manner.\n, • Review social media analytics and use insights to strengthen content, engagement, and reach.\n, • Collaborate with development, program, marketing, and leadership staff to identify stories and content opportunities.\n, • Ensure content reflects Leap to Success’s brand and mission while honoring the dignity, privacy, and lived experiences of the women we serve.\n\n \n What We’re Looking For \n You are creative, proactive, organized, and excited about using storytelling and social media to make a difference. You understand that effective nonprofit content isn't simply about getting likes—it is about helping people connect with a mission and inspiring them to take action. \n \n You bring: \n\n • Demonstrated experience creating compelling social media content for a brand, nonprofit, agency, business, or organization.\n, • A strong portfolio showcasing social media content, video, graphics, storytelling, or campaign work.\n, • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create engaging captions, posts, and short-form narratives.\n, • Experience creating and editing short-form video and social media graphics.\n, • Working knowledge of Canva and social media scheduling/management tools such as Sprout Social, Social Champ, Buffer, or Hootsuite.\n, • Experience managing social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.\n, • An understanding of how social media can support fundraising, audience engagement, community awareness, and organizational growth.\n, • Ability to work within established brand colors, styles, and messaging.\n, • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n, • Sensitivity to trauma-informed communication and the ability to tell stories in ways that respect people's privacy, agency, and lived experiences.\n, • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, mission-driven team.\n\n \n A degree or training in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, graphic design, or a related field is welcome, but strong hands-on experience and a compelling portfolio are equally valued. \n Experience with nonprofits, social impact organizations, advocacy, or cause-related marketing is a plus. \n \n Hours, Location & Compensation \n This is a part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week, paying $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience. \n Most work can be completed remotely; however, the person in this role must be available for occasional meetings at our Carlsbad, California office and to attend selected programs and events throughout San Diego County. \n \n How to Apply \n Please send your resume, cover letter, and portfolio or examples of your social media work to info@leaptosuccess.org. \n \n In your cover letter, tell us why you are interested in Leap to Success, what excites you about this role, and how your experience and creativity could help us share our mission with a wider community.
