    General Manager (Confidential) Location: Hauppauge, NY Industry: Transportation Salary: $100,000 & Up annually (DOE) Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site Role Overview A well-established transportation organization is seeking a General Manager to oversee daily business operations, logistics, warehouse activity, and commercial sales performance. This role has full responsibility for operational execution, team leadership, and driving results across multiple functional areas. The General Manager serves as a hands-on leader, ensuring operational discipline, revenue performance, and cross-team alignment while continuously improving systems, processes, and profitability. Core Responsibilities Business & Operations Leadership • Direct day-to-day operations across logistics, warehouse, local service execution, and commercial functions., • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and operating procedures., • Monitor business performance using operational and financial metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities., • Develop and execute strategies to improve efficiency, service quality, and profitability., • Provide regular performance reporting and operational insights to senior leadership. Warehouse, Fleet & Asset Oversight • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, and outbound preparation., • Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and workload management., • Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking systems., • Support the evaluation and implementation of warehouse or inventory management tools., • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and secure., • Lead loss prevention initiatives and enforce equipment accountability standards. Logistics & Local Operations • Oversee dispatch operations to ensure timely, profitable job execution., • Manage staffing plans and adjust resources to meet changing demand., • Monitor fleet usage, maintenance compliance, and safety requirements., • Provide dispatch coverage and operational support as needed., • Plan labor and logistics for large-scale or complex commercial projects., • Lead regular operations meetings focused on performance, safety, and continuous improvement. Sales Leadership & Performance Management • Lead and manage the commercial sales team, including ongoing coaching and performance management., • Conduct regular sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and individual performance discussions., • Review sales activity, forecasts, and conversion metrics to drive revenue growth., • Ensure accurate and consistent use of Salesforce for pipeline management, reporting, and forecasting., • Partner with sales and operations teams to align revenue goals with operational capacity., • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, pricing discipline, and customer retention. Schedule & Availability • Standard office hours: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., • One Saturday per month, • Additional availability may be required for special projects, peak periods, or business needs. Experience & Qualifications • Prior leadership experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse, or operations-heavy environments., • Experience managing sales teams and revenue performance., • Strong understanding of operational metrics, forecasting, and performance reporting., • Working knowledge of CRM systems, • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability. Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving skills.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented In-House Expeditor to manage all aspects of permit acquisition, construction plan documentation, and violation resolution for Long Island and the Tri-State area.
