Marbella, Spain Reports to Headteacher / Senior Leadership Team Purpose of the Role We are seeking a dynamic, organised and proactive professional to oversee the day-to-day management and development of the school library, coordinate the school's Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme, and lead the school's Health & Safety function. This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an engaging library environment, delivering a high-quality ECA programme, and ensuring that the school maintains a safe, compliant and positive learning and working environment for students, staff and visitors. Key Responsibilities Library • Manage the daily operation of the school library., • Develop the library as a welcoming and engaging learning hub at the heart of the school., • Promote reading and literacy initiatives across all age groups., • Organise library resources and maintain accurate records., • Support students and staff in accessing learning resources. Extra-Curricular Activities • Coordinate and oversee the school's ECA programme., • Liaise with staff and external providers to ensure a broad range of high-quality activities., • Manage ECA administration, scheduling and communication with families., • Monitor participation and contribute ideas for new activities., • Ensure appropriate safeguarding, supervision and risk management arrangements are in place for all activities. Health & Safety Coordinator • Lead and coordinate the school's Health & Safety programme, fostering a proactive culture of safety and wellbeing across the school community., • Ensure the school operates in compliance with applicable Spanish Health and Safety legislation and best practice, working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and the Regional Health and Safety leads., • Develop, implement and regularly review Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidance., • Coordinate and monitor risk assessments across all areas of the school, ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented and regularly reviewed., • Maintain accurate Health and Safety records, statutory documentation and compliance registers., • Coordinate fire safety procedures, evacuation drills and emergency response planning, ensuring all required records are maintained., • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify trends and make recommendations to reduce future risk., • Monitor the completion of corrective actions arising from inspections, audits and incident investigations., • Liaise with external contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with the school's Health and Safety requirements while working on site., • Coordinate mandatory Health and Safety training and induction for staff and maintain training records., • Advise staff on Health and Safety matters and promote good practice throughout the school., • Act as the school's primary point of contact for day-to-day Health and Safety matters. Additional Responsibilities • If appropriately qualified, provide occasional classroom cover in emergency situations., • Support whole-school events and activities as required., • Carry out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role. Person Specification Essential • Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken)., • Excellent organisational and project management skills., • Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills., • Confident working independently and taking ownership of Health and Safety responsibilities., • Good IT skills., • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail. Desirable • Previous experience working in a school or educational environment., • Experience leading Health and Safety compliance within an organisation., • Experience managing a library., • Teaching qualification or teaching experience., • Experience coordinating projects or extracurricular programmes. Working Hours Working hours will be determined in accordance with the applicable employment category and school operational requirements, including availability until 17:45 to support the Extra-Curricular Activities programme.
