Purpose of the role You will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the organization of SAIC Motor France. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of effective financial controls. Key duties include managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, tax clearance, coordinating audits, and supervising the accounting team. The Chief Accountant also provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions and budgeting processes. Key Results/Accountabilities expected from the role Your main responsibility will focus on the following missions: Accounting Operations & Management: • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll., • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing., • Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in accordance with Franch GAAP and IFRS (report for Headquarters)., • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Compliance & Reporting: • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax filings., • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and implement audit recommendations., • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity., • Prepare and submit statutory reports to relevant authorities. Team Leadership & Development: • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growth., • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. Process Improvement: • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices., • Leverage accounting software and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy., • Support the implementation of new financial systems or upgrades as needed. Strategic Support: • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making for senior management., • Assist in financial planning, risk management, and cost-control initiatives., • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals. Experience & Educational background & Expertise • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is required., • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role; automotive industry experience is highly preferred., • Proven experience in general ledger functions, financial reporting, compliance, and audit management., • In-depth knowledge of French GAAP/IFRS, financial and tax regulations., • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to financial integrity., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities., • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders., • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines., • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (SAP is preferred) and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills & Power BI., • Proficiency in both French and English, written and oral.
