This particular role is required for UCS College Group, Bridgwater College to fulfil the growing skills demand in order to meet local and national workforce requirements, for current and future civils projects such as Hinkley Point C power station. Ideal candidate will be looking for a hands-off role, this position is to observe, capture and report only. (No physical work) Candidates should be aware that we do not instruct or own and responsibility in the works captured, we confirm adherence to the specification and process approved. The role is 75% site and 25% office based. The job description doesn't cover the responsibility that the FE will have to record and report findings to Construction and Quality, this will usually involve records and information to be recorded and saved by the FE and distributed accordingly. Managing the outcomes of the surveillance undertaken which will involve attending some meetings and being challenging the contractors but also being challenged themselves. Confident communication skills essential. Certain documentation checks or reviews will be undertaken so knowledge of some specifications will be essential. Either a younger or older person looking to build a foundation within NNB and carry out FE duties for 24-36 months is common, candidates with hands on experience will likely get bored in this role. Mechanical qualifications stated however HND/diploma may not be essential. Experienced knowledge and understanding can be enough. (5 years' experience usually enough) Knowledge of current process such as NCRs/ITPs etc an advantage.
