I am placing this advert on behalf of my mother, who is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant(Carer) to provide everyday essential care and support to a woman in her early 60s with MS in her own home in Burscough. The role will require the ability to handle diverse responsibilities while ensuring the comfort and well-being of the woman requiring care. She lives alone with her small dog and is bed bound. She currently has 3 other carers working part time for her. This is a part time role with a minimum of 15-20 hours, plus 2 nights. Shift patterns can be discussed at interview and we will try to be as flexible as possible around your life within reason to meet her needs. Hourly rate - £12.51 Days – Tuesday, Wednesday Friday between various hours of – – 19.00. Sunday between 3-5pm. Nights normally Tuesday and Saturday and are paid at a set rate of £60.00. Minimal work to be done, more to be in the property if she needs anything. This will normally be moving sleeping position a handful of times if / when uncomfortable and maybe a toilet visit. Therefore, still able to get a half decent nights sleep whilst being paid. Key responsibilities: • Assisting with daily personal care( washing, dressing, toileting), • Administer medication as prescribed, • Meal preparation, laundry, washing up, general tidying, • Manual handling around the home, including transfers from bed or chair, • Running errands, such as shopping, • Flexibility to work different hours, including nights, • Own transport to travel to her property in Burscough or other means. Please note, public transport may not be available if work nights or evenings from certain locations, • Physical fitness to perform lifting when assisting her with mobility needs, • Reliability and trustworthiness, • Good communication skills and be fluent in English The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Once the above has been provided and you meet the requirements set out, we will arrange a quick chat on the phone. This can be a chance to get to know each other and then arrange a visit to her property in Burscough. Following this we can arrange an opportunity to shadow another carer on shift.
