We’re looking for an Operational Services Administrator to join our Co-op Funeralcare team. In this role, you’ll be the main point of contact for clients when they call us, and it’ll be up to you to understand their needs and help them plan a funeral or the repatriation of a loved one. Why this role matters As an Operational Services Administrator, we’ll look to you to be there for our clients when they need our help, support and advice. You don’t need previous experience as we provide full training and ongoing support so you’ll have all the tools you need for your new role. What you’ll do • Answer client calls and queries, providing support and guidance, and advising on the best services to meet their needs and budget, • Work with the wider team to make sure our client needs, service levels, and important metrics are met, • Support various administrative aspects of a Direct Cremation arrangement, • Work with our funeral home network to support clients in accessing the advice and help they need, • Carry-out general administrative tasks (e.g. completing client forms, updating records, and managing funeral-related costs), • Support business development plans and liaise with third parties What you’ll bring • A passion for delivering excellent customer service, • Good relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate with empathy and sensitivity, • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, • The ability to work flexibly to support clients when they need us most, • Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office and telephone systems) Why Co-op? Odyssey is our beautiful, bespoke 55ft wooden yacht - hand-built in the Peloponnese in the 1970s and lovingly maintained as part of the Peligoni experience. She runs relaxed coastal day trips for up to 10 guests, offering a unique way to explore hidden bays, crystal-clear waters and the slower rhythm of life on the Ionian Sea. Each trip combines great hosting, calm professionalism and the understated charm Odyssey is known for, making the skipper one of the key personalities guests encounter during their stay. About the Role We’re looking for an experienced and charismatic Skipper to safely operate Odyssey and deliver memorable day trips throughout the season. You’ll captain morning, afternoon and full-day charters, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere on board, and take pride in caring for Odyssey as if she were your own. This is an ideal role for someone with flotilla, charter or small-vessel skippering experience who enjoys meeting people, thrives in a sociable environment, and values the balance of guest interaction and hands-on seamanship. Key Responsibilities • Safely skipper Odyssey on all charters, operating in line with MCA regulations and club procedures., • Host morning, afternoon and full-day trips for up to 10 guests, ensuring a relaxed, enjoyable experience., • Create a warm, professional atmosphere onboard and act as a welcoming ambassador for the club., • Maintain Odyssey to a high standard - conducting daily checks, basic maintenance and ensuring she’s always guest-ready., • Work closely with Guest Relations to coordinate bookings, timings and accurate guest accounts., • Support the Host in delivering drinks, lunch and service onboard., • Build rapport with guests, offering local insight and promoting club activities., • Maintain excellent relationships with local port authorities and operate with full compliance. You will be someone who is: • A confident and competent Skipper with previous hands-on experience, • Warm, charismatic and comfortable hosting guests of all ages., • Positive, adaptable, and willing to help other teams when needed., • Proactive and capable of managing maintenance confidently and independently., • A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills., • RYA Day Skipper (Commercially Endorsed) or higher., • Valid First Aid Certificate and RYA Marine Radio (SRC)., • Competent swimmer with excellent boat-handling skills., • Working knowledge of yacht maintenance, safety procedures and seamanship., • Proven experience skippering flotillas, charters or small commercial vessels., • Previous hospitality experience (desirable)., • Available from mid-May until early September.
