Staff are supported to grow professionally, and there is a shared commitment to maintaining high standards while ensuring a caring and supportive atmosphere for all.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons in line with curriculum requirements.\nTeach a range of English topics, including literature and language, to students of varying abilities.\nAssess, monitor and report on student progress, providing clear feedback and setting appropriate targets.\nSupport students in developing reading, writing and critical thinking skills.\nDifferentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.\nContribute to the development of schemes of work and teaching resources.\nMaintain an organised and stimulating classroom environment.\nSupport the management and use of learning resources and materials.\nContribute to the delivery of the pastoral curriculum and act as a form tutor where required.\nUndertake supervisory duties in line with organisational expectations.\nParticipate in meetings with colleagues, parents and carers.\nEngage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nEssential\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS).\nExperience teaching English to students aged 11-16.\nStrong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.\nAbility to deliver engaging and effective lessons.\nAbility to assess, track and report on student progress.\nCompetence in using ICT to support teaching and learning.\nStrong communication and organisational skills.\nAbility to support students of all abilities to achieve their potential.\nAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team.\nCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.\nDesirable\n\nExperience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and 5 if applicable).\nExperience contributing to curriculum development.\nExperience of pastoral responsibilities, including form tutor role.\nEvidence of ongoing professional development.\n\nAbout Clarence Recruitment\n\nClarence Recruitment are highly experienced recruitment specialists operating within the Education Sector.
