You must be available to work from our Newbury office and ideally would have previous legal experience and be able to work full-time (flexible working requests will be considered). We are looking for someone who has either completed the LPC or SQE1 and SQE2 Job Description Job Title: Trainee Solicitor, office based Working hours: Full-time preferred (flexible working requests will be considered). Office hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 5.30pm Remuneration: We offer a competitive salary depending on experience plus other benefits including pension, bonus and additional days holiday at Christmas. The salary range for trainee solicitors is £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. Desirable Skills/Attributes · You are required to have passed both your GDL and LPC or both SQE1 and SQE2 before the proposed start date of the training contract. · A family law elective as part of the degree or LPC is desirable. · An interest in pursuing a career in Family Law is essential. · The ability to work independently with initiative, discretion and confidentiality. · You must be able to demonstrate professionalism, client discretion and observe confidentiality. · Strong organisational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise, be flexible as required and take ownership of tasks. · Your ability to stay calm and work well under pressure is essential. · You should have excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with high regard for deadlines. · You should demonstrate a proficiency in MS Packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and willingness to learn how to use the firm’s document management and other systems. · We are looking for someone who will be a collaborative team member with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people. · You will need to demonstrate strong drafting skills and able to communicate effectively and courteously both internally and externally. · A team player, with a “can do” attitude and the ability to quickly build relationships with a wide range of people is key to this role.
