As a Lead IT Specialist in the industrial and manufacturing sector, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the technology infrastructure of the organisation. This position, based in Derby, requires a proactive and skilled individual to ensure seamless IT operations and support. Description • Manage and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability., • Oversee the implementation and upgrade of technology infrastructure., • Provide technical support and solutions to internal teams., • Develop and enforce IT policies and best practices across the organisation., • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address technology requirements., • Monitor system performance and implement improvements where necessary., • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. A successful Lead IT Specialist should have: • A strong background in IT management within the industrial or manufacturing sector., • Proficiency in managing and upgrading complex technology systems., • Experience in implementing IT policies and ensuring compliance with regulations., • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges., • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams., • Leadership experience to guide and develop an IT team, • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (technical certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Cybersecurity are a plus), • experience in IT infrastructure, site/field support, or cybersecurity roles, • Strong knowledge of networking, Servers, storage, cloud technologies, and Microsoft environments, • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, compliance standards, and IT/OT integration, • Experience with automation platforms and low-code tools (eg, PowerApps, Power Automate), • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement scalable solutions, • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, • Ability to mentor and train users and junior IT staff, • Willingness to travel occasionally to support regional sites or events, • A competitive salary per annum + Benefits, • 4 days a week onsite in Derby, • A permanent role with stability and growth opportunities., • Opportunities to work within the industrial and manufacturing sector., • Supportive company culture and collaborative work environment.
