Structural EngineerLocation: Hertfordshire (Hybrid Working Available) A well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join its growing Structural Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' experience who is looking to develop their technical expertise, work on a varied portfolio of projects, and progress towards Chartership within a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll be involved in delivering structural engineering solutions across projects from concept through to completion, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams on a broad range of developments.The Role You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, research & development, energy and refurbishment schemes, gaining exposure to all stages of the design process.Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Design & Analysis\n\n • Produce structural designs in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.\n, • Carry out structural calculations and analysis using industry-standard software such as Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS.\n, • Deliver practical, cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions.\nProject Delivery\n\n, • Work closely with architects, contractors, developers and multidisciplinary design teams.\n, • Assist with project planning, technical coordination and reporting.\n, • Attend design meetings and liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery.\n, • Support projects from feasibility through to construction.\nTechnical Development\n\n, • Develop innovative structural solutions to engineering challenges.\n, • Keep up to date with current design standards, legislation and sustainable engineering practices.\n, • Work towards Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE) with structured support and mentoring.\nSite Inspections\n\n, • Undertake site visits and inspections to review construction progress and ensure compliance with design intent.\n, • Assist in resolving technical issues during construction.\n, • Ensure designs meet current UK regulations and health and safety requirements.\nAbout YouEssential\n\n, • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent).\n, • Minimum of 2 years' experience within Structural Engineering\n, • Experience designing in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.\n, • Proficient with structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS or equivalent.\n, • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and UK design standards.\n, • Knowledge of foundation design and geotechnical considerations.\n, • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.\n, • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.\n, • Full UK Driving Licence.\nDesirable\n\n, • Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).\n, • Experience working on a wide variety of building structures.\n, • Confident working directly with clients and project teams.\nWhat's on Offer\n\n, • Competitive salary.\n, • Company pension scheme.\n, • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.\n, • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional leave based on length of service.\n, • Holiday buy/sell scheme.\n, • Enhanced family leave.\n, • Paid professional membership fees.\n, • Structured Chartership support and mentoring.\n, • Ongoing CPD and technical training.\n, • Study leave.\n, • Cycle to Work scheme.\n, • Season ticket loan.\n, • Health and wellbeing benefits, including annual flu vaccinations and eye care support.\n, • Regular team social events.\n, • Free refreshments and on-site parking.\n
