The Opportunity\n\nWe are working with a well established, family run engineering contractor delivering mechanical building services across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, data centres, laboratories, and retail.\n\nDue to a sustained period of growth and multiple project awards, they are looking to appoint an experienced M&E Project Manager to support delivery across key projects.\n\nRemuneration\n\n * £70,000-£75,000 (Perm only) or £350-£400 a day (Freelance)\n\n * Car Allowance, Private Health Care, Death in Service, Pension (Perm only)\n\nCurrent Project\n\nThe successful candidate will initially be delivering a £3.5m mechanical & public health package based in Shinfield, Reading (M4 Corridor), involving:\n\n * Full mechanical & public health pipework installation\n\n * Laboratory, welfare and office environments\n\n * LTHW, CHW, domestic water, lab water, SVP, RWP & drainage systems\n\n * Mixed installation methods (welded, screwed, brazed, solvent weld, fusion)\n\n * Working alongside a Tier 1 main contractor\n\n * Programme duration: 30–40 weeks\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for project delivery from pre-construction through to handover and commercial close-out.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Managing full project lifecycle (programme, cost, quality & delivery)\n\n * Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors\n\n * Client-facing – attending progress, coordination & commercial meetings\n\n * Managing cost plans, forecasting and reporting\n\n * Supporting QS with applications, variations and contractual matters\n\n * Ensuring compliance with JCT/NEC contracts\n\n * Driving health & safety, quality and programme performance\n\n * Mentoring junior team members and leading by example\n\n(Full job description available upon request)\n\nAbout You\n\n * Proven experience as an M&E / Mechanical Project Manager\n\n * Strong background in pipework & mechanical building services\n\n * Commercially aware with strong understanding of JCT/NEC contracts\n\n * Confident leading teams and managing stakeholders\n\n * CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6) – essential\n\nThe Business\n\n * UK-based, family-run engineering contractor\n\n * Circa £9m turnover\n\n * Team of ~20 direct staff + 100+ subcontractors\n\n * Strong pipeline across the M4 corridor and London
