Senior Contract Engineer Darlington Permanent | Full-time Hybrid NES Fircroft is proud to partner with the Northern Endurance Partnership (bp, Equinor, TotalEnergies) as they deliver the CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure for the East Coast Cluster, one of the UK’s most significant carbon capture and net zero programmes. The Role: As the Senior Contract Engineer will support NEP’s Contracts & Procurement function across both the Onshore Humber Project and corporate procurement activities, providing hands on commercial, contract, procurement, and administration support. This role is critical in enabling NEP to operate effectively as a growing organisation, ensuring tenders are executed efficiently, suppliers are onboarded compliantly, contracts are administered robustly, and PO processes are established and maintained. The role will work closely with C&P Manager, project team, corporate team and suppliers to support transparent, fair, and compliant procurement outcomes. Responsibilities: • Supporting end-to-end tendering and procurement activities (EOIs, RFQs, RFPs through to award), • Managing contract administration, variations, and supplier performance, • Leading supplier onboarding and due diligence processes, • Overseeing purchase order (PO) management and ensuring governance compliance, • Providing commercial support across the Onshore Humber Project and wider NEP operations, • E-Procurement Tool Support - NEP is in the process of setting up a new Tendering/procurement tool. Part of this role will include training and roll out of the platform to the rest of the NEP C&P team/business. What We’re Looking For: • Degree or equivalent experience in procurement, commercial management, engineering, or related discipline., • Up to 10+ years’ experience in contracts, procurement, or commercial roles, • Practical experience supporting the full tender process, from enquiry through to award on major project contracts., • Familiarity with FEED, EPC, EPCM or similar contracting models., • Experience in OMEGA 365 beneficial, • Strong background across tendering, contract management, and supplier engagement, • Experience within energy, infrastructure, engineering, or construction projects, • Confident stakeholder manager with strong organisational and analytical skills, • Experience in E-Tendering is essential Why Join NEP?
