Electrical Design Engineer 📍 Worcestershire (Hybrid Working) 💼 Full-Time | Permanent 💰 Salary: Up to £65,000 (depending on experience) An award-winning renewable technology company specialising in the decarbonisation is looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing technical team. The business operates as a consultancy, principal contractor and aftercare provider, delivering innovative solutions that help facilities transition to net zero carbon operations. With a team of 26 and a turnover exceeding £12M, the organisation is entering an exciting period of growth and is expanding its engineering capability to support a strong forward order book and ambitious strategic plan. This role is ideal for an Electrical Design Engineer with strong technical capability who enjoys producing accurate design documentation and contributing to innovative low-carbon heat pump projects. The Role Working closely with the Technical Manager and multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support the design and delivery of commercial heat pump installations and associated electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design • Produce electrical designs and calculations including Single Line Diagrams and full design packs, • Generate scope and specification documentation for subcontractors, • Size electrical and mechanical equipment including circulation pumps, air handling units, heat pumps and cabling, • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop integrated system designs, • Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), • Prepare design risk assessments and engineering documentation including DFMEA, DESOPS and FDS, • Review and support controls design where required, • Contribute to project design reviews and sign-off of site works Project Collaboration • Work closely with internal designers and project managers, • Interpret schematics, site surveys and design intent information, • Support development of technical documentation, • Assist with visual outputs and technical information for client communication About You Essential Skills & Experience ✔ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar electrical design role ✔ Experience using at least one of the following: • ePlan (or similar electrical design software), • AutoCAD, • SolidWorks ✔ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications ✔ Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders ✔ Highly organised with strong self-management and time management skills ✔ Proficient with Microsoft Office Desirable • Experience with low carbon or renewable energy technologies, • Experience analysing energy usage or energy systems, • Knowledge or qualifications in Health & Safety, • Experience building client and supplier relationships, • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline Apply via LinkedIn to find out more about this opportunity.
