Job Title: Maths and/or English Tutor (Primary & Secondary) Location: Lewisham (face-to-face, community-based) Pay: £25–£30 per hour Contract: Contracted - full-time or part-time Payment: Monthly via PAYE About the Role: We are looking for kind, caring, and compassionate Maths and/or English Tutors to support primary and secondary-aged children who are educated outside of mainstream school.You will work one-to-one, delivering fun, engaging, and personalised lessons to children who may be: • Educated under Section 19 of the Education Act, • Experiencing medical or mental health needs, • Children in care, • On a pathway toward reintegration into school Tuition will take place face-to-face in a range of settings including: • The child's home, • Placement, • Community, • School This role involves close collaboration with Local Authorities, Hospital Schools, and Virtual Schools. What We Offer: • Flexible working – choose your own hours, • Monthly pay via PAYE, • £25–£30 per hour, depending on experience, • Free CPD training, including:, • Keeping Children Safe in Education, • Safeguarding, • Student mental wellbeing, • Relational safety and trauma-informed practice, • Direct work with Hospital Schools and Virtual Schools for children in care Who We Are Looking For: We welcome applications from individuals who: • Have experience working with children or young people, • Can confidently deliver Maths and/or English, • Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, • Are able to create engaging, motivating, and supportive lessons, • Bring a positive, nurturing, and calm presence, particularly when supporting children with physical or mental health needs Ideal backgrounds include: • Teachers, • Previous Tutors, • Teaching Assisstants, • Learning Mentors, • HLTAs Essential Requirements: • Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, • Must have previous experience of direct work with children, • Can provide 2 professional references, • Right to work in the UK, • Ability to travel around Lewisham, • A genuine commitment to Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Relationship Based Practice Why Join Us?
