Azure is preferred, although experience across other major cloud platforms will be considered., • Understanding of traditional FinOps practices including cost allocation, tagging, forecasting, budgeting and cloud optimisation., • Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience using Power BI or similar tooling., • The confidence to work directly with engineering leaders, technical teams and senior stakeholders, constructively challenging existing approaches where required., • The ability to take ownership of a developing capability rather than simply operate within an established process. This is an opportunity to get ahead of where FinOps is going next. You’ll combine an established FinOps skillset with one of the fastest-developing areas in technology: understanding the economics behind enterprise AI adoption. Rather than becoming another person within a large FinOps function, you’ll have the opportunity to become the recognised expert for AI economics and FinOps within the business. The role has significant visibility, with senior stakeholders actively invested in getting this capability right. You’ll be joining at a point where AI investment is accelerating, giving you the opportunity to shape the frameworks, reporting, governance and best practices used to manage it rather than inheriting something already finished. For someone who wants to build their career at the intersection of FinOps, cloud and AI, there is significant scope to develop your expertise, profile and influence as the capability grows. #J-18808-Ljbffr

GCS brings a single commercial voice to R&D and provides strategic leadership across the full lifecycle of our medicines, from early development through to launch and beyond. Within GCS, the Global Commercial function defines the global marketing strategy for our medicines and how it is delivered around the world, working closely with Global Access Strategy & Pricing and the GCS Platforms, like Launch Excellence. \n \n Our team is preparing for the launch of a potential first-in-class medicine, currently in Phase 3 clinical trials, for dermatomyositis and polymyositis. These are rare, progressive autoimmune diseases affecting the skin and muscles, where patients often wait years for a diagnosis and treatment options remain very limited. We are a small, high-performing global team that works across rheumatology, dermatology and neurology, partnering every day with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, Insights & Analytics, our US and International commercial teams, and external agencies and vendors, to help bring this medicine to patients and support Pfizer's purpose: breakthroughs that change patients' lives. \n \n Your placement year falls during an important period of launch preparation, giving you a front-row view of how a new medicine is readied for patients around the world. \n \n What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer? \n \n This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of the launch preparation of a new treatment for people living with a serious and rare condition. As our undergraduate placement, you’ll join us as a valued member of our global commercial team, working with experienced colleagues across commercial, medical and market access on the real priorities of a live launch programme. \n \n You’ll start by owning well-defined tasks and, as your confidence and experience grow, take on more. You’ll also develop core marketing capabilities; understanding customers and the market, shaping how a brand is positioned, and bringing creativity to the way insights and ideas are turned into compelling materials. You will also see first-hand how commercial, medical and access teams work together to prepare a new medicine for launch. \n \n By the end of the year, you will have: \n · Presented your own work to senior leaders across the US and International teams \n · Attended EULAR 2027, Europe’s largest rheumatology congress, with the team \n · Owned the competitive intelligence summaries the team relies on to understand the market \n · Developed marketing fundamentals; insight, positioning, messaging and creative development, through Marketing Academy and hands-on work on a live launch \n · Learned how a multi-million launch budget is planned and controlled \n · Built a portfolio of tangible contributions you can talk about in any graduate interview \n \n Pfizer offers a diverse and supportive environment with many opportunities to grow and develop. This is a great chance to be part of the bigger picture, to understand how the pharmaceutical industry works and the range of careers it offers, and to finish the year with a portfolio of tangible contributions to a live launch programme. \n \n Your responsibilities will include: \n \n · Launch readiness: keep the team’s launch readiness tracker current, follow up on actions and milestones with colleagues, and present short status updates in team meetings \n · Competitive intelligence: monitor the competitor landscape using publicly available sources (news, publications, clinical trial registries, congress abstracts) and turn it into concise updates for the team \n · Vendor partnership: be our day-to-day contact for our competitive intelligence agency, coordinating requests, tracking deliverables and keeping our materials well organised \n · Monthly competitive intelligence calls: run the team’s monthly calls end to end: scheduling, agendas, pre-reads, notes and follow-up of actions \n · Budget: maintain the team’s budget and spend trackers, work with Finance and Procurement on purchase orders and invoices, and flag any variances to the budget owner \n · Congress support: help the team prepare for key medical congresses, including EULAR, by supporting creative concept, planning and logistics and helping to capture and share insights afterwards. \n · Marketing and creative input: contribute to brand positioning, messaging and launch materials, bringing fresh ideas and a creative perspective to how we tell the story of the medicine to customers \n · Team support: prepare slides, meeting materials and summaries, and find practical, responsible ways to use AI tools to make the team’s day-to-day work simpler and faster \n · Your own project: in the second half of the year, choose a question the team needs answered and own it from brief to presentation \n \n What other opportunities and benefits do Pfizer offer? \n \n Pfizer offers a diverse and supportive environment with many opportunities to grow. Throughout this role you will have: \n\n • Attendance at the EULAR 2027 European Congress of Rheumatology with the team, supporting on-site activities and seeing how the latest science is shared with the medical community\n, • Cross-functional projects with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access and Insights & Analytics\n, • Direct exposure to senior leaders across the US and International teams, with opportunities to present your own work\n, • Pfizer-led training, including commercial capability-building through Marketing Academy\n, • Hands-on experience using AI tools responsibly in a commercial setting\n, • Weekly one-to-ones with your line manager, a buddy in the team and a formal mid-year review\n, • Pfizer’s UK undergraduate network\n\n This is a chance to be part of the bigger picture: to understand how the pharmaceutical industry works, the range of careers it offers, and what it takes to bring a new medicine to patients. \n When can I start? \n \n Placements will start on 1st September 2027 and will run for 12 months. \n \n \n PERSON SPECIFICATION \n \n Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’: \n \n · Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year \n · AI Literate \n · Studying Business, Marketing, Economics, Life Sciences, Pharmacy or a related subject (other disciplines welcome) \n · Strong organisational skills and attention to detail \n · Demonstrable AI fluency \n · Confident using Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable working with numbers \n · Great written and verbal communication skills \n · Curious and analytical, able to summarise information clearly \n · Ability to identify what is most important and prioritise several tasks accordingly \n · Collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a global, virtual team \n · Shows initiative and is eager to learn and take on new challenges \n · Motivated by Pfizer's purpose: breakthroughs that change patients' lives \n \n \n \n As a reminder……. \n \n Who can apply? \n \n Applicants must be completing placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year. \n \n This position will close for applications on 15th November 2026. \n \n Please note that we only accept application forms.
