Education Recruitment - Compliance Officer Location: Preston. 4 Days in office + 1 day working from home Salary: £24k - £40k Reports to: Head of Compliance Division: Operations We are a well-established and growing education recruitment agency supplying high-quality teaching and support staff to schools and academies across the UK. Safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance sit at the heart of everything we do, and we are now seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer to help maintain and enhance our robust compliance framework. About the Role As Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all candidates, processes, and documentation meet current legislation, safeguarding standards, and industry best practice. You will play a key role in protecting our clients, candidates, and reputation while supporting consultants to operate compliantly and efficiently Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Ensure full compliance with education recruitment regulations, including Safer Recruitment, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), REC Audited Education, GDPR, and right-to-work requirements Manage pre-employment compliance checks, including DBS, references, qualifications, and overseas checks Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within the CRM/ATS Conduct regular compliance audits and spot checks Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry guidance and advise the business accordingly Support recruitment consultants with compliance queries and best practice Liaise with schools, local authorities, and external bodies where required Prepare documentation for audits and inspections What We're Looking For You'll thrive in this role if you have: Previous experience in a compliance role, ideally within education recruitment or a regulated recruitment environment Strong understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Confident working with systems, documents, and deadlines Strong communication skills and the ability to challenge appropriately Able to work independently while collaborating with wider teams Why Join Us?
