Main\nJob\nFunctions You\nwill respond to customer’s field repair and service requests,\ndiagnosing and providing comprehensive detail about the nature the\nproblem to the customer and Finning to create a quote as per the\nrequest of the customer within a cost and time effective\nmanner. • Provide\nan estimate of arrival time at customer’s site in response to\nservice request based on the job instructions from Branch giving\ndetails of customer location, machine, contact name and nature of\nproblem and current work\nsituation., • Contact\ncustomer’s site management in order to register arrival and\npresence on site and ensure knowledge of customer procedures so as\nto adhere to site\nrequirements., • Diagnose\nthe likely cause of reported equipment problems, in discussion with\ncustomer operators/supervisors and using specialised equipment, in\norder to provide the customer with an information for the work\nrequired. Provide a comprehensive detail to allow Finning to\nconstruct a quote as requested by the\ncustomer., • Identify the\nparts required to carry out the repair and requisition any parts\nand determine expected time of delivery so that a date and time of\nany necessary service re-visit can be agreed with\ncustomer., • Undertake\nrepair and service work on a variety of Caterpillar engines and\ngenerators. Education\nand\nExperience • LDV\ndriving\nlicence., • Formally\ntrained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) and served as a service engineer\nfor a significant period or equivalent\nexperience., • Experience\nof a variety of gas and diesel engines, generators both LV and\nHV. Knowledge • Knowledge\nin the use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential.\n, • Experience with\nassembly and disassembly of diesel engines and\ncomponents, • Caterpillar\nlarge engine e.g. 3400, 3500, 3600 series engines, MWM, MAK series\nknowledge., • Formally\napprenticed trained (NVQ Level 3) and served as a workshop engineer\nfor a significant period or equivalent experience. \n, • Experience of a\nvariety of gas and diesel engines, generators both LV and\nHV.
