Role: Senior Cloud and Data Architect Location: Basildon, UK (3 days/week from office) Type: Permanent Responsibilities: • 15-20 years of total experience in DWBI, Big Data, Cloud Technologies, • Implementation experience and hands on experience in either of the 2 Cloud technologies – Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, • Must Have Hands on experience on at least 2 Hyperscalers (GCP/AWS/Azure platforms) and specifically in Big Data processing services (Apache Spark, Beam or equivalent)., • In-depth knowledge on key technologies like Big Query/Redshift/Synapse/Pub Sub/Kinesis/MQ/Event Hubs, Kafka Dataflow/Airflow/ADF etc., • Excellent consulting experience and ability to design and build solutions, actively contribute to RfP response., • Ability to be a SPOC for all technical discussions across industry groups., • Excellent design experience, with entrepreneurship skills to own and lead solutions for clients, • Excellent ETL skills, Data Modeling Skills, • Excellent communication skills, • Ability to define the monitoring, alerting, deployment strategies for various services., • Experience providing solution for resiliency, fail over, monitoring etc., • Good to have working knowledge of Jenkins, Terraform, StackDriver or any other DevOps tools., • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data., • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming., • Ability to articulate and write POVs on new and old technologies, • Ability to recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems., • Assess data implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations., • Install and organize information systems to guarantee functionality., • Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams., • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions., • Educate staff members through training and individual support., • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner. Role overview We are looking for a Development Underwriter to manage the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business. There will be a focus on achieving budget targets & ULR Ratio Targets. Alongside offering excellent customer service and upholding high underwriting standards via open market trading and using the online trading platforms. Key Accountabilities • Underwrite, trade, and negotiate new and renewal business in alignment with the company’s underwriting strategy and risk appetite., • Assess and prioritise incoming new business enquiries to ensure alignment with the company’s target market., • Identify and obtain key risk information necessary for accurate underwriting and pricing of risks., • Collaborate with the Business Development team to support growth objectives and achieve agreed business targets., • Process policy adjustments and endorsements in a timely and accurate manner., • Handle and resolve queries from clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders effectively., • Manage and resolve queries related to accounts and claims in coordination with relevant departments., • Proactively identify personal training and development needs and communicate these to the Manager., • Operate within the limits of assigned underwriting authority and in compliance with internal governance., • Adhere to company service standards and contribute to a high-performance culture., • Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and professional development. Skills And Experience • Extensive underwriting experience across core market insurance products. Ideally gained within Leisure, Entertainment and media, professional Indemnity or Personal Accident insurance., • Strong trading and negotiation capabilities, with a focus on delivering commercially sound outcomes., • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements within the insurance industry., • Familiarity with FCA (formerly FSA) rules and the ability to ensure ongoing compliance., • In-depth knowledge of Bspoke policy documentation and wordings., • Demonstrated ability to apply underwriting expertise and sound judgment in risk assessment and decision-making., • Working knowledge of market-standard wordings and insurance product structures., • Understanding of legal principles as they pertain to insurance contracts and practices., • Good knowledge of the broker landscape, including broker needs and relationship management., • Experience in commercial underwriting or in broking roles involving commercial insurance products., • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and avoid unnecessary jargon., • Strong customer insight and the ability to anticipate and respond to end-customer needs., • High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and consistency in underwriting practices., • Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret financial and risk data effectively., • Effective use of negotiation skills to achieve optimal underwriting outcomes., • Ability to manage workloads, meet tight deadlines, and perform well under pressure., • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service., • Enthusiasm for personal development and supporting the development of others.
