Head of Programmes Temp to Perm | Multi-site (2 campuses initially) Contract: Temporary to Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am–5pm) Working pattern: Term time only (41 weeks – includes last week of August) Salary (FTE): £44,000–£48,000 (pro-rata depending on campus allocation) Reports to: Head of College Travel: Regular travel between campuses is essential About the Role Reed FE is looking to appoint a temp-to-perm Head of Programmes to lead provision across two campuses, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is a senior, highly visible leadership position with responsibility for ensuring high-quality, inclusive Post-16 education for young people with SEND. You will provide both strategic and operational leadership across the college’s programmes, ensuring strong student outcomes, consistency of delivery and full compliance with DfE funding rules, Ofsted requirements and SEND legislation. Key Responsibilities • Strategic leadership of Post-16 study programmes across two campuses, • Oversight of curriculum intent, teaching, learning, assessment and outcomes, • Use of data to monitor performance, attendance, progress and KPIs, • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for campus and Deputy DSL for the college, • Leadership of SEND provision, EHCP processes and statutory Annual Reviews, • Line management, coaching and development of campus-based teams, • Employer, cultural and creative industry partnership development, • Oversight of Supported Internships and meaningful work placements, • Operational and financial oversight at campus level, ensuring value for money, • Ensuring a high-quality, aspirational and inclusive student experience About You You will be an experienced education leader with a strong SEND background and the confidence to lead across multiple sites. Essential: • Experience working with SEND learners and EHCPs in Post-16 or specialist education, • Experience leading or managing educational teams, • Strong understanding of the Ofsted Inspection Framework, • Knowledge of DfE 16–19 Study Programme requirements, • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between campuses, • Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent) Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
