Reporting to the Head of Properties, the Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the Centre and supporting operational tasks such as porterage and event setup. This role ensures a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for all users and visitors. Key Responsibilities • Perform daily cleaning of all areas, including offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, kitchens, and public spaces., • Ensure floors, surfaces, and fixtures are cleaned and maintained to institutional standards., • Carry out deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., carpets, windows, high-level dusting)., • Monitor and replenish consumables (soap, paper towels, toilet rolls) promptly., • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as required., • Support event setup and breakdown, including preparing and displaying refreshments and arranging chairs, tables, and AV equipment., • Follow COSHH guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment., • Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to the Head of Properties., • Respond to ad hoc cleaning or porterage requests promptly., • Support sustainability initiatives (e.g., waste segregation, recycling). OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT: The pub manager ensures the smooth operation of the establishment on a day-to-day basis. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT The pub manager is responsible for all financial aspects, from budgeting and cost management to maximizing revenue and profitability. Examples of this includes; • Budgeting: Develop a detailed annual budget based on historical data and projected growth., • Cost Management: Monitor and control operational costs, including supplier expenses and utility bills., • Revenue Enhancement: Implement innovative pricing and promotional strategies to boost sales. Example: Introducing "happy hour" to increase early evening sales and customer turnout. 3.STAFF MANAGEMENT As Pub Manager, you will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing a motivated and efficient team. Example: Partnering with local breweries for special tasting events marketed through social media. 6.STOCK MANAGEMENT Effective stock management ensures the pub has the necessary supplies without overstocking, minimizing waste and costs. Examples of this includes; • Inventory Audits: Regularly perform audits to track stock levels and usage patterns., • Supplier Management: Negotiate terms with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and fair prices., • Menu Management: Update the drink and food menus based on stock availability and customer preferences. Example: Rotating beer taps based on seasonal availability and popularity. 7. SAFETY & SECURITY Ensuring the safety and security of both patrons and staff is paramount, involving regular risk assessments and emergency planning.
