As a result of some exciting programme wins, we currently have a permanent vacancy for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support the development, transition & in-service running (including capability upgrades) of an IT application and infrastructure solution providing support to a critical operational end user. The preferred candidate will demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure Engineering in secure environments, with expertise and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies and platforms, VMware stack technologies (ESXi, vSphere, NSX, VCLM), Microsoft stack technologies (AD, DNS, GPO, WSUS etc.) , Linux (RHEL) server management and hardware including but not limited to, Dell PowerEdge Servers, PowerVault storage, QNAP, Nexor data diodes. The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes-based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. Your passions and experience will help you become a technical specialist and process owner with our operations support services including service improvement and add further value to our service offerings. You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation (LLDs, Work Instructions and Operational Wiki’s) and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with Secure by Design, project milestones and customer KPIs and SLAs. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable with directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges. The successful individual will be responsible for: * Working with the team to plan and implement modern, scalable infrastructure using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation. * Collaborate with customers on all aspects of infrastructure management including the assurance and integration of infrastructure services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business * Recognise and exploit business opportunities by leveraging architecture and design best practice * Communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context. * Have Secure by Design at the forefront of any technology deployments and design input. WHO DO WE NEED? We are looking for someone with excellent organisation and communication who has good general knowledge of infrastructure technologies including servers, networks, data diodes, firewalls, SAN storage and replication. Specifically: * Strong knowledge and experience of Window Server deployment and management in a data centre environment, including OS build, AD, DNS, WSUS, PKI and GPOs implementation and support * Strong experience in VMware virtualisation technologies (ESXi, vSphere, VCLM, NSX) * Appreciation of good practices for a successful data centre operation, including the installation and configuration of Dell hardware using iSCSI connectivity * Experience of configuring Dell networking switches, setting up VLANS, truck and access ports along with best networking practices * Have good general knowledge of Microsoft tooling such as PowerShell * Experience of Linux (RHEL) * Understand DevSecOps source control and solid experience with Infrastructure as code (IaC) tooling Terraform and Ansible * Additional experience of: Ivanti, Trellix, Veeam Backup and Replication, KeyClock IDAM * Appreciation of containerisation (Docker) and K8s * Exposure to and understanding of hyperscale clouds such as AWS (AWS Cloud Practitioner preferred but not essential) * Have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer * Experience of operating in an Agile and or Scaled Agile environment where secure by design is the default approach to delivery but also familiar with waterfall methodology * DV Clearance is required. Description Solution Architect (Maritime Autonomy) Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Solution Architect to lead the architecting and design of modern autonomous and digital C4ISR systems and solutions for maritime defence capabilities and platforms. The role will support multiple maritime and related defence opportunities with the candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime systems and architectures, autonomy, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as good understanding of maritime platform design. This role will include developing relevant capability roadmaps across the Leidos Maritime area, scoping technology innovation, capability integration, undertaking customer engagement to position Leidos as a leader in Maritime Defence using cutting edge technology and leading the solution on bids and opportunities. Description Solution Architect - National Security and Defence (NS&D) Location: Farnborough office for the majority time with occasional travel to customer locations and working from home. The Role: Leidos have an opportunity for an experience Solution Architect to provide solution and technical leadership for programmes, including bids, growth opportunities and project delivery, designing differentiating and innovative solutions and services that address customer's business problems. The Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Continuity & Security Resilience Specialist to lead and mature our Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in alignment with ISO 22301 standards. Description Lead Combat Systems Engineer Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Maritime Combat Systems Engineer (MCSE) to lead the design and implementation of a Combat System for the Leidos Sea Dagger, a brand new naval combat platform. The candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime combat, C2 and Combat Management systems, data networks and architectures, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as understanding of overall platform design and architecture. This role will include selecting, implementing, integrating and setting to work various combat system capabilities drawn from Industry partners and internally Leidos generated products.
