Our client who are a nationwide Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy are looking for a Civil Engineer in their London office, which is in Zone 1 the location offers exceptional transport links. Within a 10-minute walk you'll find Old Street, Barbican, and Farringdon stations, giving you direct access to the Northern, Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Elizabeth Line, and Thameslink services. This means fast, no-change connections across London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Heathrow, and even as far as Reading or Brighton. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on landmark developments, from major urban regeneration and residential masterplans to bespoke retail, commercial, education, and leisure projects. Civil Engineer Salary & Benefits • Competitive salary based on experience, • Bonus scheme based on personal and company performance, • 25 days' holiday + buy/sell scheme + additional service-based leave, • Company pension scheme + independent pension advice, • Life assurance (4x salary), Medicash plan - cashback on health & wellbeing expenses, • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave, • Employee Assistance Programme - free advice and counselling services, • Professional development funding + paid membership fees, • Supportive, sociable office culture with regular events and activitiesCivil Engineer Job Overview, • Deliver civil infrastructure design for a variety of private and public developments, • Manage and support a project team (apprentices through to engineers), providing mentoring and design guidance, • Undertake and review detailed design of:, • Drainage and SuDS strategies and systems (surface & foul water), • Road and pavement layouts, earthworks and site levels, • Highway works including s.278 and s.38 design, • Drainage agreements including s.104, s.185 and permitting, • Prepare technical reports including Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, Utilities Assessments, and Service Strategy Reports, • Produce and review technical drawings from concept through to construction, • Liaise directly with clients, stakeholders and approving bodies, • Attend project and site meetings, lead design reviews, and contribute to planning and technical submissions, • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to new business developmentCivil Engineer Job Requirements, • Degree-qualified Civil Engineer with 4+ years' UK consultancy experience, • Strong background in drainage and infrastructure design, • Experienced in preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Service Reports, • Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and ideally Civils 3D or other ground modelling tools, • Some experience in vehicle swept path analysis (AutoTrack or similar), • Strong client-facing communication and project management skills, • Commercially aware, positive and solutions-driven, • Chartership (CEng/ICE) is desirable but not essential - full support is available to achieve this
