Overview We are hiring for a Waking night and day shift support worker / carer to join the lovely team around a 19 year young man who has epilepsy and PMLD, is non verbal and has additional health needs. He lives at home with his family and dog. We will need someone to take on both daytime hours as well as cover regular 2 waking night shifts per week. This is full time position (40 hours or more per week) for someone who has a strong interest in working with disabled and autistic people. You would ideally need some experience but the correct applicant we are also happy to train. This has to be your only job - as we will need some flexibility - to occasionally take on extra shifts. The payrate is £16 during training this increases to £17 per hour. You would be someone who has interest in special needs, psychology and perhaps nursing. You would perhaps have studied a related field or are planning to study a related field. If you have experience with intermittent catheterisation, Peristeen system as well as PEG feeding then that is an advantage but we can easily also train those skills too.
