Hybrid Position The Sage X3 Business Analyst will be the functional lead for Sage X3 within a make to order manufacturing environment. The role blends system functional expertise , business analysis, operational understanding and project experience to ensure that identified change projects are delivered on time, and on budget . The successful candidate will support day to day operations, drive continuous improvement, and deliver business change projects that enhance planning, production, data integrity, and user capability. Key Responsibilities Sage X3 Functional Support Provide daily support across Manufacturing, Warehouse , Purchasing, Sales, and Finance modules. Diagnose system issues, ensuring sustainable fixes and minimal disruption. Define system configuration required to support change projects. Identify opportunities to streamline MTO workflows, reduce manual workarounds, and increase automation. Recommend improvements to configuration, workflows, and controls. Work with internal and third-party developers, who will be delivering the technical changes. Specific Key Funct ional Areas Support the implementation of MPS by working closely with Operations Manager and sales teams to ensure successful implementation and embedding process to move away from current planning in excel. Review and optimise sales order driven MRP, including planning parameters, lead time logic, and order specific BOM/routing requirements. Analyse material master data to ensure key data fields are accurately populated to ensure MRP provides accurate suggestions. Ensure dashboards and housekeeping reports are used to remove the current use of shortage lists in excel. Support data cleansing, migration, and validation for upgrades or project activity. Build and maintain reports and operational dashboards using Sage X3 tools (Queries, Reporting, SEI as applicable) to support real time decision making . Support and improve shop floor data capture tools (barcode scanning, terminals) to e nhance accuracy of labour reporting, work centre usage , WIP tracking, and order level progress updates. Business Analysis & Change Delivery Lead or support assigned business change projects across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and operations. Lead on local IT elements of key business projects to ensure all system and data impacts are recognised, managed and leveraged . Conduct process and system requirements gathering with stakeholders to c reate clear, high quality system requirements specifications. Liaise with third party developers to deliver enhancements. Identify dependencies, evaluate risks and ensure all project deliverables, schedules, and financials adhere to established processes. Monitor and control schedule and financial health of their assigned project(s) and provide actionable insights and status to key stakeholders . Coordinate and execute SIT/UAT cycles, manage defects, and secure sign off. Update SOPs, work instructions, and training materials following system or process changes. Training & User Enablement Deliver training to end users across departments, ensuring consistent adoption of best practice , to support the successful adoption of the change projects. Produce quick reference materials if required . Act as a champion for system usage, data accuracy, and process discipline. Skills & Experience Essential Significant hands on Sage X3 experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of make to orderorengineer to orderprocesses. Good experience of MPS, MRP, and underlying master data. Proven business analysis skills: requirements gathering, process mapping, solution design. Ability to write clear functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Confident delivering training and supporting users at all levels. Desirable Experience with advanced shop floor data capture solutions. Familiarity with SEI, Power BI, or similar BI tools. Knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies. Personal Attributes Analytical, structured, and detail oriented .
