Job Purpose: The Infrastructure Architect plays a key role in CVS architecture / technology division. The role involves producing designs and overseeing the implementation of solutions encompassing hardware, software, and security to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability; bridging business needs on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, providing technical leadership, and ensuring designs meet CVS architectural principles and security standards. The architect should be a strong technologist that is very aware of current developments in the technology spectrum. Key Responsibilities: Produce high-quality high-level Design documentation describing technical systems solutions, providing overall design direction and recommendations for resolution of complex technical issues. Analyse existing Design documents, find recommended options in the market, produce presentations to the Architect team with options and reasoning and later proceed with Design documents. Provide technical leadership and direction to the IT engineering, delivery and test teams throughout implementation phases. Support the Enterprise Architects in the development of infrastructure road maps to support the evolution of the technical and digital portfolios from current to future state. Act as liaison between Architecture and Engineering and direct the development of technical standards and platforms, quality, and best practices. Required Skills and Experience: Strong technical knowledge including Microsoft technologies, Red Hat Linux, data centre and cloud, enterprise networking: WAN/LAN/WLAN, routing, firewall, ID/IP/IPS, WAN optimization, proxy, VPN services, load balancing, and IT security. Experience designing, documenting, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments such as AWS. Knowledge of networking, storage and server hardware configuration and design. Good knowledge of cloud networking (AWS and Azure) components. Ability to communicate solutions to other stakeholders. Ability to assess and recommend third-party tools and systems to complement existing offerings. Stakeholder management. Knowledge of security design. Good knowledge of risk management. Work closely with other architecture disciplines including Enterprise, Infrastructure and Security, as well Engineering and Operations. Provide technical guidance to team members and other stakeholders. Identify and recommend opportunities for efficiency. Stay updated on new features and capabilities and best practices. Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage diversity. Share knowledge within the team and contribute to the organizations learning culture. Education and Certifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
