\n What You’ll Do\n \n • Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems to power our e-commerce experience.\n, • Build and maintain interfaces that support our frontend, mobile, and third‑party integrations.\n, • Be very experienced working with pull, push models for data parity between third parties and our systems around e‑commerce concerns of product, stock, orders and fulfillment synchronization.\n, • You’ll design, implement and deploy reliable software to solve complex e‑commerce concerns.\n, • Architect systems for membership access, catalog management, checkout, order fulfillment, and payments.\n, • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, design, and data teams to deliver features that elevate the user experience.\n, • Own backend services end‑to‑end, from design to deployment and monitoring.\n, • Contribute to best practices in code quality, testing, reliability, and observability.\n, • Help define our backend architecture and make strategic technical decisions as we scale.\n, • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.\n Who You Are\n \n, • 8+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems in production environments.\n, • 4+ years leading Ruby cloud stack teams as a Principal Engineer/Architect.\n, • Deep familiarity with the Ruby object model – eigenclasses, method dispatch, method_missing, send, and all variable types.\n, • Expert skills with Ruby idiomatic patterns, metaprogramming, and the ability to create macros, DSLs, and contribute to widely used gems.\n, • Proficient in developing complex applications without Rails and in deploying Rails features versus custom Ruby plugins as appropriate.\n, • Experience building APIs and distributed services using Ruby.\n, • Knowledge of Rails AREL performance characteristics, Sidekiq job handling, and efficient code patterns.\n, • Expert knowledge of data‑model design for e‑commerce, including locking sensitive resources (e.g., credit card charges) and using state machines.\n, • Advanced PostgreSQL expertise: complex joins, reporting queries, data modeling, and performance optimization.\n, • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, ECS, CodeBuild) and containerization (Docker).\n, • Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithmic principles.\n, • Experience with concurrency, inventory management/reservation, currency/price management, and third‑party API integration system designs with pull/push normalization.\n, • High familiarity with microservices design, employing software DSLs for cloud‑deployed solutions across numerous models, concerns, and integrations.\n, • Expertise in GraphQL and RESTful API development and deployment.\n, • Experience developing multi‑tenant systems, addressing access control, reporting, and authentication/authorization concerns.\n, • Comfortable working in high‑growth, early‑stage environments with a bias toward action and strong product sense.\n, • Collaborative teammate who communicates clearly and is excited to shape the future of a luxury tech brand.\n Bonus Points\n \n, • Prior experience in e‑commerce, marketplaces, or membership‑based platforms.\n, • Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, SQS, etc).\n, • Experience working closely with design or product teams in consumer‑facing companies.\n, • Passion for fashion, luxury, or retail innovation.\n Why Join MILE\n \n, • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the company.\n, • Collaborative and innovative work environment.\n, • Career growth opportunities in a fast‑growing organisation.\n \n #J-18808-Ljbffr
