A leading Engineering & Manufacturing company based in the South West of England is urgently recruiting for multiple skilled Mechanical Fitters. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently assembling, inspecting and testing high quality fluid system assemblies based on customer requirements. This includes preparing components using CNC tube-cutting machinery, bending tubes to specified tolerances, working with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), technical drawings, and written work instructions to deliver leak-tight, high-quality assemblies that meet or exceed our customer standards. Duties & Responsibilities • Building & putting together machine sub-assemblies, • Precision building of special purpose machines, • Must be able to work very tight tolerances, • Prepare and complete all fabrication work in accordance with the latest revision of customer specifications, P&IDs, 2D/3D CAD drawings, and BOMs., • Safely set up and operate tube-bending equipment to meet exacting tolerances., • Ensure assemblies meet drawing specified tolerances and quality standards before proceeding to testing., • Previous experience of working with Swagelok or compression fittings would be an added advantage., • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings & schematics., • Comply with all health and safety requirements, including the proper use of PPE and machinery., • Identify and report potential hazards and near misses to the Manufacturing Supervisor., • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication environment., • Ability to operate and program CNC tube-cutting machinery., • Proven ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs., • HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline., • Welding qualification (orbital or standard) and/or other fabrication-specific certifications., • Training or certifications in lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies.
