Shift Engineer Circa £50,000 Continental Shift Pattern (7am – 7pm, 7pm – 7am) Wrexham We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Operating within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and working as part of a collaborative shift team. Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Shift Engineer • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment, • Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime, • Support production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency, • Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with site schedules, • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards, • Accurately record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, • Assist with equipment improvements, breakdown root cause analysis, and minor project work, • Work effectively on a continental shift pattern, handing over clearly between shifts Qualifications & Experience - Shift Engineer • Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent), • Proven experience working within a manufacturing environment (food, FMCG, or similar highly regulated sector preferred), • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems, • A proactive, team-focused approach with good communication skills, • Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound engineering decisions Benefits - Shift Engineer • Competitive salary circa £50,000, • Continental shift pattern offering extended rest periods, • Company pension scheme, • Paid annual leave, • Overtime opportunities (x1.5), • Training and development opportunities For more information on this role, please contact Andy Haddon on 01453 796617, or send a copy of your CV to For details of other opportunities available within your chosen field, please visit ___ Omega is an employment agency specialising in opportunities at all levels within the Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Defence, Scientific, Energy & Renewables and Tech sectors.
