About the Opportunity Flexzo Teach is supporting an education setting in Wellingborough that is part of our pilot programme and is currently seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join them from January until Easter, with the potential for extension. This is a long-term classroom-based role, offering consistency, routine and the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and staff. The setting is looking for someone confident supporting pupils with cognition and learning needs and autism, and who can commit to the role for the full duration. About the Role This role is ideal for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is looking for: • A long-term placement from January to Easter, • Direct engagement with the education setting, no agency middleman, • Clear expectations and consistent work Responsibilities Depending on the setting, responsibilities may include: • Supporting pupils with cognition and learning needs and autism on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, • Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and routines, • Adapting support to meet individual learning needs, • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation, • Helping to prepare resources and maintain an organised learning environment, • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum effectively, • Following safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times, • Communicating clearly with school staff before, during and after the placement Qualifications and Experience • Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, • Experience supporting pupils with cognition and learning needs and autism, • Understanding of safeguarding within UK education settings, • Right to work in the UK, • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one Skills and Attributes • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, • Calm, patient and adaptable approach, • Reliable, professional and organised, • Confidence working under the direction of the class teacher, • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing Pay and Booking You set your own rate within the Flexzo Teach platform and can speak with an advisor for guidance based on your experience. For this particular pilot role, the education setting is looking for rates to sit between £90–£120 per day.
